the current trend for sunset themed interiors
has us dreaming of the LA skyline. The
choice of colour palette is what makes this
trend sing. And the high street is currently
teeming with homeware and accessories
in all shades of the sunset spectrum: from
tangy ochre and orange, to peachy coral and
moody rust. We’ve played on this trend’s
namesake by pairing these rich, sunset
hues with a touch of 1970s retro charm.
We’re talking luxe fabrics such as velvet
and corduroy; shimmering hints of brass
and copper; and classic vintage-inspired
furniture and accessories.

mall bathrooms are all too common
in most of our homes, but that doesn’t
mean you can’t make the most of the
space you have. Whether you’re looking
to update your main family bathroom,
en-suite or cloakroom, there are plenty of
innovative ways to maximise what you’ve got
without compromising on style. Compact
sanitaryware is key, whether it’s a reduced-
depth basin or bath with a shorter projection,
as is smart storage – you’ll be surprised how
much of a difference wall-hung solutions can
make to the look and feel of your bathroom!
There’s also still plenty of fun to be had with
the design of your small bathroom. While a
light scheme can obviously make a space feel
roomier, we also love bold designs that lean
into the limitations of a small bathroom.

ADDING A WC

If you’re thinking about adding a small toilet
to your home then there are a few practical
aspects you need to consider before going
ahead. Carving out space from a bedroom
or making the most of the space under your
stairs are good places to start, but there are
building regulation requirements you must
adhere to. ‘A WC room will need to be a
minimum length of 130cm and minimum

be a worthwhile investment. You’ll need

Nine out of 10 thefts occur in the garden,
according to SunLife. The highest ticket
items include bikes, garden tools, furniture
and ladders. Burg-Wächter estimates that
the average shed contains items worth at least
£1,000, so it’s worth investing a little not to
lose a lot. The Burg-Wächter Shed Security
Kit contains a solid hasp and staple with
concealed fixings, two padlocks – one for the
door, the other for the ground/wall anchor –
plus a 4.5-metre braided steel security cable to
loop items. And if anyone should break-in, a
battery-operated PIR alarm will emit a 100db
alert to ensure they don’t go unnoticed.
On your bike!
Burg-Wächter reports that 90 per cent of
bike thefts went unsolved by the police in
2021, with 60 per cent of thefts occurring
at home. Prevention is definitely better than

STRIMMING PREP
When using a grass strimmer, it is essential to wear
safety glasses to protect your eyes from any debris that
may spin up from the ground.
If you are cutting back long grass or clearing weeds
from the base of hedges, check the area thoroughly
for hedgehogs. These spiky little mammals gravitate
towards overgrown grassy sites and hedges to feed on
the beetles and all manner of other insects that live in
these habitats.

rest for 5-7 minutes.
QWhile your salmon is resting, melt the butter
