Metro Circuits
Production Technician / Project Manager
October 1994 - March 2004 (9 years 6 months)
During my almost 10 years of PCB manufacturing I gained extensive
knowledge in the areas of production management, safety, basic electronics,
geometric tolerances, manufacturing, inspection and time management.
Worked with numerous chemicals and machines that needed to be handled
correctly to maintain safety and effectiveness. Each of these chemicals
had a hazard label and required specific training. All OSHA standards as
well as Personal Protective Equipment, Hearing Protection, and Respirator
training were held annually. Plating required expert knowledge in surface
area, percentage of copper, aspect ratios of amps to minutes, current density,
and precise micro measurements down to the millionths. Knowledge of
basic parallel and series style circuits were used in determining customer
blueprints. Capacitance of the material was used to measure the dielectric
constant. Ohms law was used to measure for correct trace width. Geometric
Dimensions and Tolerances were used to assist with manufacturing processes
and inspection. Manufacturing and Inspection standards followed ISO 9001

International Standards and IPC (The Institute for Interconnecting and
Packaging Electronic Circuits). Quality inspection prevented surface scratches,
under or over plating, undercutting, peeling, or delamination. Quick turnaround
and tight deadlines were the norm in our niche market. Project management
was necessary to track each job through the multiple manufacturing and
quality inspection processes. I provided direct supervision and training to
production assistants to help expedite on-time completion.
