Hello and Welcome!
Your body is built to remove the toxins it gets exposed to. How cool is
that? Except in today's day and age we are exposed to so many
toxins that our drainage and detox pathways are over worked and
under functioning. This means that we are slowly accumulating more
toxins. Everything from pesticides, environmental toxins, heavy
metals, plastics, infections to biotoxins and their waste products.
In this ebook you will learn how to help support and improve your
lymphatic system which is a crucial part in your health and wellbeing.
When your lymph is flowing properly you are able to remove toxins,
balance body fluid and fight infections like a champ.
Happy Draining.

WHAT IS
The Lymphatic System?
Why is the lymphatic system so important and
what does it do?
The lymphatic system is part of your drainage and
detoxification system. Think of it as your body's
sewage system. It removes the waste fluid from your
cells and delivers it back to the circulatory system via
the subclavian veins.
Unlike the cardiovascular system, your lymphatics do
not have a pump. They rely on your muscles
contractions to move. Therefore living a sedentary
lifestyle where we are exposed to toxins daily is a
recipe for disaster. Other ways our lymph can become
congested: conventional dairy, underwire bras, tight
clothing even wifi has been shown to clog our lymph.
Your lymph is also responsible for your immune
system response. It produces and releases
lymphocytes to monitor and destroy bacteria, viruses,
funguses and parasites. Its also involved with fat
transportation (bringing fat and fat soluble vitamins
from the digestive tract to the blood supply.)

cells.
What most people miss when teaching/doing lymphatic drainage
Opening up the termini which are located above your clavicles. This is
where the lymphatic fluid drains. So if it's clogged nothing will drain.
Lots of providers are teaching to work furthest away from the termini
(ex. ankles) and work towards the termini (or your core.) This is like
trying to push wet snow from the furthest point to where you want it to
end up. It just won't work. Always start at the termini and move away
doing the next series after. That way the lymphatic fluid has space to
move and doesn't get clogged. This is also why you end with the
termini and are pushing/pulling the lymph towards the termini.

Contraindications for Manual Lymphatic work
1. Fever, acute infection, early onset inflammatory
disease. You need to wait until the acute phase is over
and the fever is broken.
2. Circulatory system problems, especially thrombosis
or if there is any risk of embolism or phlebitis
3. Cardiac issues such as heart disease, acute angina
pectoris or coronary thrombosis (heart attack). Using
LDM increases the fluid load to the heart.
4. Active bleeding, internal or external.
5. Active malignant cancers, undiagnosed lumps, or
tumors that haven't been looked at by your physician.
6. High risk pregnancy or late term pregnancy with
complications, first trimester.
7. Renal failure (because of the increased fluid)
8. Atherosclerosis or Aortic aneurysm or recent
abdominal surgery
9. Asthma because of the potential to stimulate the
vagal nerve and bring on an attack

massage to see if it's right for you.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
TO PROPERLY DRAIN YOUR
LYMPHATIC SYSTEM:
1. You are going to use your middle and ring fingers.
The reason for this is because we tend to be more
gentle and don't push as hard as we would if we
used our index fingers. The amount of pressure
used is equivalent to the amount of pressure you
would put on your eye or a ripe avocado/tomato
2. You are going to pump each lymph node 20-50
times. It's very gentle and slow. You'll do one
pump every second.
3. You will ALWAYS start and end with
pumping the termini. This is because the
termini are the drainage points for all of your
lymph fluid. So you want to be sure that they
are open and draining.
4. You are ALWAYS going to pump in the direction
of your termini (towards your clavicles.)
Note: Videos on how to find the locations and to see it being
done can be found on my instagram page. They all have a cover

HOW TO HELP DRAIN YOUR
Lymph Nodes
You MUST always start and end with #1 and can choose
to go through the whole cycle or focus on certain areas.
1. Termini: Located above your clavicles in the "triangular
groove" (in the middle of your clavicle). You are going
to pump inwards.
2. Tonsil: Located right below the angle of your jaw. You
are going to pump down towards the termini
3. Apical: Located on the inside of your shoulders or
under your bra strap. Pump towards the termini
4. Armpit: Located in the groove of your armpit. Pump
up and in towards the termini
5. Elbow: Located on the inside of your elbow. Brush the
inside of your elbow using your finger pads up
towards the shoulder
6. Cisterna: Located between your navel and sternum.
Pump in and up towards your termini ("J" motion)
7. Groin: Located along the inside of your hip bone to your
pubic bone. Pump in and up towards your termini
(moving your fingers from your hip to pubic bone)
8. Popliteal: Located behind your knee. Pump in and up
towards your groin
9. Ankle: Located around your ankle. bones. Pump
around your ankle bones pulling up towards your groin
1. Termini: Yes you will start and finish with pumping
the termini to make sure your lymphatic fluid is
draining.
