Hindustan Platinum at a glance
Established in 1961, Hindustan Platinum is a leading manufacturer and refiner of
precious metal products and services that have a wide array of industrial applications.
With an impressive legacy spanning over six decades, Hindustan Platinum is a
specialist when it comes to refining precious metals and manufacturing precious
metal products. We also provide a full spectrum of services that range from technical
advisory to metal management.
Our drive for excellence, our perseverance to serve our customers’ requirements, and
our unflagging effort to build a global brand have enabled us to establish a customer
base in over 50 countries across 5 continents. Supporting our global footprint are two

At the forefront of all our activities is refining. At Hindustan Platinum, we have a
state-of-the-art precious metal refining facility, which enables us to handle a wide variety
of precious metal bearing material.
Our primary sources include spent catalysts from Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Oil Refining
and Petrochemical industries as well as precious metals bearing scrap from Automobile,
Glass, and other industries.
Over the years, we have fine-tuned a variety of traditional and cutting-edge high-yield
technologies to produce high-purity precious metals. Hindustan Platinum employs
stringent quality checks to ensure accurate traceability at all levels of the process. The
precious metals content in scrap or spent catalysts received from industries are the main
feed stock for the refinery. Sampling and assaying are key elements of our recovery
processes, whereby the precise metal content is determined for each lot of material
received. The recovered metal is either returned to the customer, recycled into new
products, or credited into a metal account.
Hindustan Platinum prides itself on the accuracy of its analytical abilities. Our NABL
accredited laboratory is equipped with world class facilities, where a range of tests are
performed on the samples, including gravimetric analysis, fire assay, titration, and ICP
spectrometry.
In accordance with international standards, we refine and return the metal with a minimum
guarantee of 99.95% purity. This can go up to up to 99.99% purity depending on the
customer’s requirement.

We are a leading manufacturer of precious metal catalysts that owing to their activity,
selectivity, and recyclability, play a pivotal role in chemical industries. Our catalysts are
abundantly supplied to the API industry and its intermediaries as well as to industries like
Agrochemicals, Flavours & Fragrances, and Fine & Bulk Chemicals.
Our experience in manufacturing catalysts, combined with our commitment to meeting
the specific requirements of our customers has resulted in technologies that have been
perfected into an exact science. Moreover, our catalysts are subjected to stringent
quality controls throughout the manufacturing process. We, therefore, assure better
process yields, improved product quality and greater cost-effectiveness in production

With our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in India and Puerto Rico, backed by
world-class technology, we are the preferred supplier of silver and silver alloyed contacts for
most of the leading names in switchgear and other industries across the globe. We
manufacture contacts & contact materials for the low and medium voltage industries from
simple shapes to complex geometries of the global standards.
We also customize them specific to the needs of global markets. To achieve this, we
consider all the factors, from the magnitude of current and voltage, type of load, contact
protection to frequency and speed of operations. We pay equal attention to the emission of
gases and fumes on oxidation, foreign contaminants and impurities, temperature and
humidity. Our efforts extend to reduce the cost of contact to the customer, without
compromising on the quality and effectiveness of the product.

Product: Precious Metals Gauzes
Hindustan Platinum started manufacturing platinum alloy catalyst gauzes in 1963 and
palladium alloy getter packs in 1985. In contrast to conventional mass production, our
flat-bed knitting technology has the flexibility to manufacture each catalyst gauze
individually. This allows us to offer a smart portfolio of single and multi-structural catalyst
gauzes that can be modified according to the customer's desired requirements.

Hindustan Platinum also carries out
destructive and non-destructive cleaning
of equipment in the ammonia oxidation
process downstream to recover precious
metals by chemical and water-air based
methods.
The essence of non-destructive cleaning operation lies in the mechanical, chemical, or
water-air based methods treatment of the surface, so that maximum precious metals
deposits on the exchangers can be removed and collected without affecting the life of the
equipment. After carefully studying the plant design and operating parameters, we employ
environment-friendly, customized, and optimal cleaning methods using plant specific
equipment to ensure maximum recovery.

2. Plant Advisory
The Nitro Technologies department determines the
performance of the catalyst and the process yield
by assessing the environmental condition of every
customer’s process. This also includes the quality of
the filtration of air and ammonia, or even the
fluctuations in the process control.
The product installation and start-up procedures affect the development of an active and
selective catalyst surface and thus the process yield of the entire campaign. Impurities
cause a segregation of Platinum and Rhodium in a variety of phenomena depending upon
the contaminant, which results in rapid aging of the catalyst and an increase in precious
metal losses. A control mechanism that regulates the ammonia ratio not optimally
matched to the mixed gas temperature prevents high yields.
Each process is characterized by a variety of factors that have a direct impact on the
performance of the catalyst and its precious metal losses. To recognize these factors and
thus optimize the performance of the catalyst, our products and services are integrated. A
combined product-service package system covers the evaluation of the product
installation procedure, start-up procedure, process/ product modeling and simulation, fault
analysis and troubleshooting, and assessment of the control parameters.

We manufacture apparatus that is largely used in laboratories for analytical purposes.
They mainly comprise crucibles, dishes, electrodes, and tongs. These are made from
Platinum and its alloy with Gold and PGMs (Platinum Group Metals).
2. Spinnerets

We supply precious metal Spinnerets to the
man-made fibre industry. These are manufactured as
per customers' requirements, with close tolerances of 0.5 micron in diameter.
We also manufacture cluster holder and tantalum filters for viscose staple fibre production,
as well as stainless-steel cup and ring type spinnerets for acrylic fibre production.

3. Stirrers

Hindustan Platinum manufactures both cladded as well as uncladded platinum group
metal stirrers used in the glass industry. Our plant has the complete setup for
manufacturing both evacuated and non-evacuated stirrers.
We also make complete feeder systems as well as individual components such as orifice
rings, drain tubes, heating elements, bubblers, probes, thimbles, and thermocouple wires,
etc.
4. Bushings & Spinner Baskets

the Glass Fibre Industry. Our array of products include:

5. Thermocouple Wire

We manufacture platinum wires of uniform
composition that are free from chemical and physical
defects. The diameters of our readily available wires
range from 0.025 mm to 5.00 mm. Since Platinum and its alloys are reliable sensing
elements in high temperature measurement, we also make temperature sensing products
that allow better process control and improve energy conservation. This includes
thermocouple wires, resistance thermometers, throwaway tips, and alpha wires. Moreover,
we supply precious metal sheaths, wherever necessary.
6. Jewellery
We are a Platinum Guild International (PGI)
authorized supplier of Pt950 alloy in different
compositions with Palladium, Ruthenium, Iridium,
Copper, Cobalt etc. We are also authorized by PGI
to supply different size of Pt 950 blank for rings and
Pt 950 chains in roll form along with other allied
Pt 950 for the Jewellery Industry.

Hindustan Platinum has extensive experience in
manufacturing precious metals products and
providing related services, offering our customers
the industry’s most inclusive array of services for the
entire precious metal lifecycle.
Whether its Gold, Silver, Platinum, or Palladium, our
specialists create tailor-made solutions for our customers within the scope of customary
price-hedging instruments such as outright buy and sell orders and working of limit orders.
We can provide metals in the form of bars, grains, or sponge, at most locations worldwide.
We can also arrange for unallocated metal credit and loco swaps as required.
Hindustan Platinum’s Navi Mumbai refinery is on the London Platinum and Palladium Market
(LPPM) Good Delivery list for Platinum and Palladium and on the London Bullion Market
Association (LBMA) Good Delivery List for Silver. As a result, bars manufactured by us are
readily accepted by bullion banks and commodity exchanges around the world.

1. NABL
Our Analytical Testing Laboratory has been recognised
as NABL Accredited Testing Laboratory vide Certificate
Number TC-8930. This accreditation enables us to issue
test certificates with ILAC MRA Mark for high-purity
Platinum, Palladium, Gold and Silver.
NABL - National Accreditation Board for Testing and
Calibration Laboratories, is a Constituent Board of Quality
Council of India. ILAC MRA Mark is registered as a worldwide
mark and is owned by the International Laboratory
Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC).
2. Authorized Economic Operator (AEO)
Hindustan Platinum, has been awarded the prestigious
Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Tier 2 certification
by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs,
Ministry of Finance, Government of India. This
