NARRATIVE REPORT
SMCS-SELG joins the Brigada Eskwela 2024
July 22-26, 2024

The National Schools Maintenance Week also known as the ‘Brigada Eskwela’ is
an annual activity of the Department of Education to help promote the spirit of bayanihan
among teachers, learners, and the stakeholders. It is a time where these people are
helping each other to achieve a safer, cleaner, and a sustainable environment that is
conducive to learning.

That is why the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) of Sta. Maria
Central School has initiated an activity that is timely with the conduct of the Brigada
Eskwela. Its main objective is to help the school in the implementation of the said
program. It started off with the kick-off parade and followed by a program in which the
SELG have actively participated they brought with them some cleaning materials (like
brooms, dustpans, rugs, etc.) to use for cleaning. After the program, SELG helped clean
the new SELG Office to be opened to serve the whole school community. After the
computer classroom, the SELG officers cleaned the area of the Grade 3 building where the
new office is situated by pulling off some weeds and picking up trash around its vicinity.
The SELG officers were so excited as they were doing their respective tasks.

Instilling in the minds of learners, the heart of becoming helpful to others especially
those who are in need, and the love of taking care of the school environment is a must
because it is a big advantage to the school and for the community it contributes.

Overall, the activity and also the implementation of the Brigada Eskwela was a
complete success despite of the challenges encountered. All thanks to the support of the
School Heads, teachers, parents, stakeholders, and not to forget the SELG Officers.

Lahat para sa Diyos, para sa Bayan, at para sa mga batang Filipino.
