This Service Bulletin is to be considered as technical information only and is not subject to any reimbursement programs outside
normal warranty.
A Product misuse & near-miss report is used to report an unplanned event that did not result in injury, illness, or damage - but
had the potential to do so. Any use of a product that Volvo CE has specifically warned against in its instructions is a misuse. Only
a fortunate break in the chain of events prevented an injury, fatality or damage.
To support our effort in building safe products, and because of increasing demands by various authorities, we would like to
encourage you to report each Product misuse & near-miss with this report. The report documents events which you have
become aware of and VCE machines have been involved. We regard the report as a mutual obligation to report and to follow up
on such misuse and near-miss occurrences.
Please copy and fill in the enclosed form.
NOTE!
The report is also available in Word format in Techline. It can be downloaded, filled in digitally and sent in by E-mail. Send the
form to the respective VCE regional office to be forwarded on to the person responsible for the market and technical matters at
Volvo Construction Equipment AB Customer Support Division
The description of the Product misuse & near-miss report must be objective. Personal opinions should be avoided. However, it is
of great importance that facts are reported.
OK to write:The insulation burnt off at...
Do not write: The damage was probably caused by the fact that the insulation was damaged at...
Also other observations should be noted in the report, for example lack of maintenance, carelessness and other circumstances
which may be of importance. For example, slippery conditions, poor visibility, previous repairs etc.
Figure 1
This Service Bulletin is to be considered as technical information only and is not subject to any reimbursement programs outside
normal warranty.
Cause and action
In our efforts to build safe products and due to different governing authorities' requirements Volvo needs you to report every
incident/accident or when there has been any risk of an incident/accident that becomes known to you where any Volvo
machines have been involved.
NOTE!
Make sure to pay attention to laws and regulations in the country where the machine concerned operates.
Depending upon the nature of the event, it may be necessary to contact Volvo CE immediately to gain direction on how to
proceed further. If Volvo CE employees are not available to conduct an immediate inspection we may need to ask the Dealer
personnel to conduct a product inspection to assist with the investigation and/or preserve the evidence.
Reporting
Within 24 hours after the incident/accident occurred or after first receipt of information regarding such an event, the
regional manager at Volvo CE's technical support department shall have been informed about the incident/accident.
The completed report shall be submitted within three working days after the occurrence of the accident/incident.
In order for Volvo to consider performing an incident inspection/fire inspection the machine must be undisturbed. No
repair may be started, nor may parts or components have been removed from the machine until clearance is given from
Volvo CE. Decision of clearance/inspection will be notified by Volvo CE within five working days.
The report will be used by Volvo CE in our continuous work to improve the safety and quality of Volvo CE products. It
may also be used as important information for decisions regarding economical compensation or in a legal process.
NOTE!
Any reimbursement request may be rejected if parts, components or remains connected to the incident have
been removed or destroyed due to work in or on the machine.
Any reimbursement request may be rejected due to delayed reporting to Volvo CE's technical support
department.
Any reimbursement request will be rejected due to lack of reporting.
IMPORTANT!
Send the form to the relevant regional office. The regional office is responsible for forwarding all information to the
relevant area manager for technical matters at Volvo Construction Equipment.
NOTE!
For Region North America, the report must be sent to e-mail: [email protected].

NOTE!
Read and understand the safety instructions in the Operator's Manual and Service Information for the machine.
This Service Bulletin is to be considered as technical information only and is not subject to any reimbursement programs outside
normal warranty.
Cause and action
New hydraulic breakers, HB06 – HB70 have been introduced. This Service Bulletin contains a summary for functions and
specifications.
NOTE!
These products are launched in the region APAC, China and EMEA. The market availability can be adjusted accordingly by order
status.
Presentation
The hydraulic breaker is a hydraulically powered breaker. It can be used on any machine with the correct machine weight and
hydraulic flows, and the necessary mechanical installation requirements.
The unit works by repeatedly raising a steel piston and driving it down onto the head of a removable breaking tool.
No additional pressure accumulators are necessary since the integrated pressure accumulator absorbs hydraulic pressure peaks.
The hydraulic breaker's impact energy is almost constant and independent of the machine's hydraulic system.

Overview
Figure 2
This chart can be updated without prior notice from the manufacturer. For latest machine / hydraulic breaker combination chart,
contact a Volvo Construction Equipment dealer.
Recommended use
The hydraulic breaker is designed for use in breaking up concrete, road surfaces or asphalt, and hard or frozen ground. It is also
suitable for light trenching and benching applications or for ground compacting as well as. It can also be used for breaking
boulders.
Please consult the dealer when selecting hydraulic breaker model for your applications.

If photos and illustrations are to be of any help, they must clearly show the problem in question. A sharp, close-up of the part in
question is required. Sometimes also the location of the part is needed.
It is the quality of the photo that determines the value of it, not the quantity.
On the following pages, examples are shown.
Figure 1 shows a photo with good quality. In figure 2 digits are added as reference to a note or comment in the call. Text boxes,
arrows, circles etc can also be used.
Figure 3 shows a photo with another photo inserted showing the location of the component/part. A PROSIS illustration can also
be used.

Tightening torques
Showing Selected Profile
The tightening torques in the following tables apply to bolts and nuts with tensile strength. The tables should be used as a
general instruction for tightening bolts and nuts without specified values. The charts contains values for course thread bolts and
nuts.
Torque values should be increased with ≈10%, for flange bolts.
All standard torques for bolts are without surface treatment.
The standard torque for bolts lubricated with oil should be reduced with 20% of the given value.
