4a Two resistors connected in parallel across 100V D.C supply. The total current from the
supply source is 10A. The power dissipated in one resistor is 600 W. What is the current
drawn when they are connected in series across the same supply.

5 An Alternating current I is given by I=141.4sin314t. Find i) The maximum value ii)
Frequency iii) Time period and iv) the instantaneous value when t is 3ms.
6 Show that voltage and current in pure resistive circuit are in phase and power consumed
in the circuit is equal to product of rms voltage and current. The circuit is excited by an
AC source.
7 Explain the generation of single phase A.C induced EMF with suitable diagrams.
8 Two 12 V batteries with internal resistance 0.5 Ω and 1Ω respectively are joined in
parallel and a resistance of 2 Ω is placed across the terminals. Find the current supplied
by each battery.

10 A circuit consists of two parallel resistors having resistances of 20ohm and 30ohm

14 An inductor coil is connected to supply of 250V at 50Hz and takes a current of 5A. The
coil dissipates 750W. Calculate power factor, resistance and inductance of the coil
15 A resistance of 7Ω is connected in series with a pure inductance of 31.8mH and the
circuit is connected to a 100V, 50 Hz sinusoidal supply. Calculate (1) circuit current (2)

16 A Circuit of two parallel resistors having resistance of 20Ω and 30Ω respectively,
connected in series with 15Ω. If the current through 15Ω resistor is 3A, find (i) current in
20Ω and 30Ω resistor, (ii) voltage across the whole circuit, (iii) the power and power
consumed in all resistors.

17 A resistance of 10 Ω is connected in series with the two resistances of each of 15 Ω


arranged in parallel. What resistance must be shunted across this parallel combination so
