Subject: (i) Heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated EXTREMELY heavy rainfall likely
over Vidarbha on 07th July 2025,
(ii) Heavy to very heavy rainfall activity likely over Vidarbha on 06th & 08th
July 2025.
During last 24 hours (0830 IST of Yesterday till 0830 IST of today i.e 06th July 2025), 37.0 mm
rainfall occurred in Gondia (highest) districts of Vidarbha. The maximum temperature was in the
range of 28°C to 31°C that remained below normal. The minimum temperature was in the range of
22°C to 25°C that remained in normal category. Relative Humidity (maximum) were in the range
of 80–95 percent over the region. Chandrapur reported highest maximum temperature (31.4 °C)
while lowest minimum temperature was reported in Amravati, Yavatmal, Washim (22.0 °C).
SYNOPTIC SITUATIONS/INFERENCE:
❖The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Suratgarh, Sirsa, Delhi, Lucknow,
Varanasi, Daltonganj, Bankura, Digha and thence southeastwards to northeast Bay of Bengal.
❖ The upper air cyclonic circulation over northern parts of Gangetic West Bengal &
neighbourhood lay over Gangetic West Bengal & adjoining north Odisha and extended upto 7.6
km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height at 0530 hrs IST of today, the 6th July 2025.
Under its influence, a Low-Pressure area is likely to form over Gangetic West Bengal &
neighbourhood during next 12 hours.
❖ The trough now runs from northeast Arabian Sea to the above cyclonic circulation over
Gangetic West Bengal & adjoining north Odisha across north Gujarat, central Madhya Pradesh,
north Chhattisgarh, south Jharkhand between 3.1 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting
southwards with height.
❖ The off-shore trough from south Gujarat to Karnataka coasts at mean sea level persists.
Temperature statement:-
NO large change in Maximum temperature for next 24 hours, thereafter fall by 2-3°C over Vidarbha.

➢ Localized Flooding of roads, water logging in low lying areas and closure of underpasses mainly in urban areas
of the above region.
➢ Occasional reduction in visibility due to heavy rainfall.
➢ Disruption of traffic in major cities due to water logging in roads leading to increased travel time.
➢ Minor damage to kutcha roads.
➢ Possibilities of damage to vulnerable structure.
➢ Localized Landslides/Mudslides/landslips/mudslips/landsinks/mudsinks.
➢ Damage to horticulture and standing crops in some areas due to inundation.

Action Suggested
➢ Check for traffic congestion on your route before leaving for your destination.
➢ Follow any traffic advisories that are issued in this regard.
➢ Avoid going to areas that face the water logging problems often.
