The interstices of the fiber unit (tube) must be filled with a suitable compound for
prevent any moisture ingress from the outside or any water migration along
of the tube. The filling compound used must be compatible with all the components with
that can come into contact and must absorb and/or inhibit the generation of hydrogen within the
cable.
The OPGW cable will be installed on existing 115 kV lines instead of the ground wire.
In addition to what is established in the standard, the requested mechanical and electrical characteristics for the
OPGW cable is:

Estimated Weight of the Cable 571 kg/km
Current carrying capacity by fault 100 (kA)2.sec for 115KV 170 (kA)2.sec for
230KV
The length of the reels will depend on the study for the particular project to be developed.
During the development of the contract, ETB may request specific specifications for
this type of cable depending on the specific project to be carried out, through the update
from the unit price lists in accordance with what is established in III - ORDERS.
