Opening prayer for every day

Oh! Most Holy Virgin of Mercy, Redeemer of

Captives and Queen of heaven and earth: Before your altar, we are prostrated.
here we are to ask for your help and to seek your blessing
Mother. Do not abandon us. Pray to the Lord for us and
continue exercising your role as our Patron and advocate. Everything
we await from Jesus Christ in whom we trust and from your
benevolent and loving protection, which on so many occasions we
you have delivered us from evil. Heed our plea and remedy the
need that we present to you in this novena. Amen.

First Day
Immaculate Conception
God was captivated by Mary's humility.

I overflow with joy in the Lord and I rejoice in my God, for He has enveloped me in His
"garment of triumph, like a bride who adorns herself with her jewels." (Isaiah 61:10).

Mary not only did not commit any sin, but she was preserved from that common
inheritance of the human race, which is original sin, because of the mission to which God
it had always been destined for her: to be the Mother of the Redeemer. All of this is contained
in the truth of the faith of the immaculate.

The biblical foundation of this dogma is found in the words that the Angel addressed to
the young woman of Nazareth: 'Rejoice, full of grace, the Lord is with you'... 'Full of'
"grace" is the most beautiful name of Mary, a name given to her by God Himself to indicate
that has always been and will always be the beloved, the chosen one, to receive the gift
more precious, Jesus, the embodied love of God.

We may ask ourselves: why among all women, has God chosen precisely to
Mary of Nazareth? The answer lies in the unfathomable mystery of the divine.
will. However, there is a reason that the Gospel highlights: her humility. The Virgin
it says this in its song of praise:

The Lord enlarges my soul... because he has set his eyes on the humility of his
"slave." Yes, God was captivated by the humility of Mary, who found grace in His sight.
eyes. Thus, she became the Mother of God, image and model of the Church.

Mary welcomed Jesus with faith and lovingly gave him to the world. This is also our
vocation and our mission, the vocation and mission of the Church: to welcome Christ in our
life and deliver it to the world "so that the world may be saved by Him" Amen.

Second Day
Incarnation of the Son of God

And entering where she was, he said: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you.
She was disturbed upon hearing these words... And the Angel said to her, do not be afraid, Mary, because you have...

he will give the throne of his father David, he will reign forever over the house of Jacob and his kingdom will not
will have an end.” (Luke 1:28-33).
The Annunciation of the Angel to Mary, narrated at the beginning of the Gospel of Saint Luke, is
a humble event, hidden, no one saw it, no one knew it, except for Mary, but at the
the same time, it is decisive for the history of humanity. When the Virgin said her YES

history, which would be sealed later, at Easter as a new and eternal covenant.

Mary belonged to that part of the people of Israel that, in the time of Jesus, was waiting with
the whole heart, the avenue of Salvador: And of the words and the deeds narrated in the
Gospel we can see how she really lived immersed in the words of the
prophets, was completely in expectation of the coming of the Savior.

I could not yet imagine how this coming would take place. Maybe I was expecting a coming.
in glory. That's why the moment when the Archangel was much more surprising
Gabriel entered his house and told him that the Lord, the Savior, wanted to take flesh in it,
her, in her. We can imagine the tremor of the Virgin Mary, as a great act of faith and
obedience, she says YES: "I am the servant of the Lord." And so she has become a dwelling of the Lord,
true "temple" in the world and "door" through which the Lord has entered into the
earth. Amen

Third Day
Visit to Santa Isabel
María a woman who loves

In those days, Mary hurried to the mountain to a city of Judah:

and entered the house of Zacharias, and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the
the child leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and exclaimed with a loud voice

things that have been told to you on behalf of the Lord." (Luke 1:39-45)

The gospel of Saint Luke shows Mary busy in a service of charity to her cousin.

express the whole program of her life: not to put herself at the center, but to let
space for God, whom one finds both in prayer and in serving others: only
then the world becomes good. María is great precisely because she wants
to glorify the Lord instead of herself. She is humble: she only wants to be the servant.
of the Lord. Know that you contribute to the salvation of the world, not as a work of yours but
only by fully placing oneself at the disposal of God's initiative.

Fourth Day
God sent His Son into the world
The church, like the virgin, shows us Jesus.

Joseph, being from the house and family of David, went up from Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to
the city of David, called Bethlehem in Judea, to be registered with Mary, his wife, who
she was pregnant. And when they were there, her time of birth came, and she gave birth to
her firstborn son, wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no
place for them in the inn. (Luke 2: 4-7).
The motherhood of Mary is true and fully human. In the phrase of Saint Paul
God sent his Son born of a woman
Jesus, as a divine person who fully assumed our human nature. He is the
Son of God, was begotten by Him, at the same time, is Son of woman, of Mary, comes
of Her. It is of God and of Mary.
The Virgin Mary, moved, gazes at the newborn Child, wrapped in swaddling clothes and
reclining in the manger. With Mary, the Church also remains in silence, to welcome
and to keep the inner echo of the Word made flesh, and not to lose the divine human warmth that
It is evident from his presence. He is the blessing of God! The church, like the virgin, does not
does another thing that shows everyone Jesus, the Savior, so that He may pour out on each one
the light of his adorable face, splendor of goodness and truth.

The Church fixes its gaze on the heavenly Mother of God, who holds in her arms the
Child Jesus, source of all blessing. "Hail, Holy Mother, the liturgy sings You have given to
light to the King who rules heaven and earth, for ages of ages," eternally. In the
the maternal heart of Mary resonates, filling her with awe at the announcement of the angels in
Belén: 'Glory to God in the highest heaven and peace on earth to men who'
but the Lord.” And the Gospel adds that Mary “kept all these things
"meditating on them in her Heart." Like her, the Church also keeps and meditates on the word.
from God, placing it in front of the diverse and changing situations it encounters at
length of your path.” Amen.

Fifth Day
Life in the home of Nazareth
Mary and Joseph have raised Jesus

When they had fulfilled the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their city of Nazareth.
The Niño was growing and strengthening, full of wisdom, and the Grace of God was with him.
him." (Luke 2:39-40)

He came to Nazareth and was subject to them. And His Mother kept all these things in her
heart. And Jesus grew in wisdom, in stature, and in grace before God and man.
men.” (Luke 2:51-52).

In the Gospel, we do not find speeches about a family, but there is an event that
is worth more than all the words: God has chosen to be born and grow in a human family. From
this way has established it as the first and ordinary path of his encounter with the
humanity. In the life spent in Nazareth, Jesus has honored the Virgin Mary and the
just Joseph, remaining subject to his authority throughout his childhood and
Adolescence. In this way, it has highlighted the primary value of the family in education.
From the person. For Maria and for Joseph, Jesus has been introduced into the religious community.
frequenting the Synagogue of Nazareth. With them, he has begun to pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
When he was twelve years old, he stayed in the Temple and his parents took three days to
find it. With this gesture, he makes them understand that "He had to take care of his affairs"
"Father", that is, in the mission entrusted by God.

Mary and Joseph educated Jesus, above all, by example: in his parents, he has
known all the beauty of faith, of love for God and His Law, as well as the demands
of justice, which finds its full realization in love. The family of Nazareth is
truly the prototype of every Christian family that is united in the sacrament of
marriage and nourished by the Word and the Eucharist, is called to fulfill the
wonderful mission of being a living cell not only of society but also of the Church, a sign and
instrument of unity for all humankind.” Amen.

Sixth Day
Mary the great intercessor
María recommends to her son friends in difficulty.

On the third day, there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the Mother of Jesus was there.
Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. And, as the wine ran out, the
Jesus' mother said to him: they have no wine. Jesus replied: Woman, what does this have to do with you and me?
My hour has not yet come. His Mother said to the servants, 'Do whatever he tells you.'
(John 2, 1-5).
In Cana, Mary directs a request to her Son in favor of the friends who are present.
difficulty. At first glance, all of this may seem like a completely human conversation between
the Mother and the Son, and indeed, it is a dialogue full of deep humanity. She confides to
your power a human need, a power that goes beyond power and capability
human. And, nevertheless, in the dialogue with Jesus, at least really as a mother,
that pleads, that intercedes. Mary does not direct Jesus to the true request. She tells him
only: 'they have no more wine'. The couple is in difficulty and Mary
he only tells it to Jesus. He doesn't ask for one specific thing, let alone that Jesus exercises his
power, perform a miracle, produce the wine, just trust the need to Jesus, and he
leave the decision of how to act to him. We thus see in the words of the Mother of Jesus two
things: on one hand, your loving request for men, the motherly attitude that warns
the difficult situation of others, we see their willingness to help. The other: María leaves
everything in the hands of the Lord. This is in his permanent underlying attitude. And this is how he teaches us to
to pray: to not want to impose our will and our desire before God, even if they are very
important, but to present them before him, and let him decide what he wishes to do.
From Mary, let us learn the prompt kindness of helping but also humility and
generosity of accepting the will of God, giving confidence in the conviction of
your response, whatever it may be, for our good.” Amen.

Seventh Day
At the foot of the Cross
Alongside the cross, she received a maternal mission.

Jesus' mother and his mother's sister, Mary of Clopas, were standing by the cross.
Mary Magdalene.

Jesus, seeing his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing there, said to her,
Mother: Woman, here is your son. Then he says to the disciple: 'Here is your mother.'
And from that moment, the disciple took her into his home." (John 19:25-27)

At the foot of the cross was Mary. Her pain forms a unity with her Son. It is a pain
overflowing with faith and love. The Virgin, at Calvary, participates in the saving power of
the pain of Christ, uniting his Yes with that of his Son.

The Virgin Mary, with her faith and maternal work, uniquely collaborated in her
Redemption to the point that Isabel could call her: 'Blessed among women'.
adding, "blessed are you who have believed" Converted into a disciple of her Son, Mary manifested
In Cana, complete trust in him, a maternal mission, for all his Disciples of all
the times represented by Saint John.

United spiritually with Our Lady of Sorrows, let us also renew our 'yes' to the
God who has chosen the way of the Cross to save us, Cross on which He has poured out,
all his precious blood to free humanity from sin and death, It is about
a great mystery that remains active, until the end of the world and that also awaits our
collaboration.

May Mary, our Sorrowful Mother, help us to take up our cross each day and follow.
faithfully to Christ on the path of obedience, sacrifice, and love. Amen.

Eighth Day
Mary with the Apostles
Mary guides the newborn church in prayer

All of them were constantly united in prayer along with some women and with
Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and his brothers. When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were
all together in the same home.

And suddenly the sky came, a wind that burst in impetuously, and filled all the
house in which they were. Then appeared to them some tongues of fire that
they divided and settled upon each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit
(Acts 1, 13:2,1-4).

The days that followed the Ascension of the Lord, the Apostles remained gathered,
comforted by the presence of Mary and, after the Ascension, persevering together with
She in prayer, waiting for Pentecost. The Virgin was for them, Mother and teacher, role
that continues to develop with Christians of all times.

by the power of the Holy Spirit, who comes to us so that we may bring him to the world
whole.

When the apostles, filled with the Holy Spirit, marched throughout the world announcing
the Gospel, John, the apostle of love, took Mary into his home in a special way. It was
thanks to his deep union with Jesus and Mary, how he was able to insist so
effective in the truth that "God is love."

Let us be witnesses to this truth. We will do so effectively if we do not associate it with the school.
of Mary.” Amen.

Protect us, Our Mother.

Ninth Day
Mary in Heaven
In the sky we have a mother

A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet
"a woman clothed with the sun, and on her head a crown of twelve stars." (Revelation 12:1)

In the Assumption of Mary, we contemplate the mystery of Mary's passage from this world to
paradise: we celebrate, we can say his Passover. Just like Christ risen from among the
the dead, ascends to heaven with his glorious body, so the Virgin Mary, associated with him
completely, has been raised to celestial glory with her whole person. Also in this, the
Mother has closely followed her Son and has preceded all of us.
Jesus, new Adam, who is the firstfruits of the resurrected, the Virgin Mary, new Eve,
appears as a preview and image of the Church, a sign of certain hope for all
Christians in their earthly pilgrimage.

In the woman of the Apocalypse, shining with lights, the Fathers of the Church have
recognized in Mary: in her triumph, the Christian people, pilgrim in history, see the
fulfillment of your wait and the sign of your hope.

Mary is an example and support for all believers, encouraging us not to lose confidence.
in the face of the difficulties and inevitable problems of everyday life. He assures us of his help and
reminds us that what is essential is to approach and think of things from above and not from the earth.
Dominated by daily occupations, we run the risk of thinking that it is here in
this world, in which we are only passing through, the goal of our human existence. But it is
in paradise where the true goal of our life is found.” Amen.
Final prayer
Oh, Blessed Virgin Mary of Mercy!
Mercy of God for men,
Mother of Jesus Christ,
Queen of the world and Lady of all that is created,
that you despise none and leave no one in despair,
let us see the reign of Christ, your Divine Son,
what is love, truth, and justice.
Source of all goodness, glory of the forsaken,
messenger of freedom and mercy,
refuge for those who suffer, for the poor and forgotten
consoler of the afflicted, medicine of the sick,
help in needs, strength in tribulations,
help of the captive, shelter of the oppressed
redeemer of injustices, prisons, jails, and exiles
patroness of families and defender of homes:
deign to accept our prayers
that we address you with all gratitude and fervor.
Virgin of Mercy, charm of heaven and earth,
You who generously listen to requests
of those who come to implore your treasures of mercy,
You who with maternal care always attend to us.
so that we may see our longings and desires fulfilled,
You who always welcomes us because we are your children,
children of your Immaculate and Sacred Heart,
You who never fails us, sustains us and accompanies us,
do not leave us alone during our pilgrimage in this life.
do not leave us at the mercy of our weak strengths,
for without your maternal request we would faint along the way.
Virgin of Mercy, miracle of miracles
relieves our sorrows.
Lady full of the grace of the Lord,
intercede for us and grant us
what we request from you today with such faith and lively hope:
(request the special favor that you want to achieve)
Exalted Virgin of Mercy, pray for us.
Glorious Mother and our protector,
Lady of Endless Mercy,
You who are compassionate with everyone
open your mantle and shelter us in it,
You who love us and guide us every day,
Please obtain what we need so much.

Mary of Mercy, cover us with peace, justice, and love,

reach us these thanks
and the eternal salvation of your son Jesus Christ,
that with the Father and the Holy Spirit
live and reign for centuries of centuries.

So be it.
