METHODSTATEMENT FOR FOSROC WATERPROOFING SYSTEM

WET AREA

PROJECT NAME: TALUK HOSPITAL

CLIENT: HEATHER CONSTRUCTION
LOCATION: PARARSSALA TVM
METHOD STATEMENT FOR SUNKEN AREA WATERPROOFING TREATMENT

1. PROCEDURE:

a) Pre waterproofing work

• Designated & experienced supervisory staff, trained applicators and helpers to
be mobilisedfor the waterproofing work.
• Sufficient quantity / waterproofing chemicals / construction chemicals, water
etc. are mobilized and ensure proper storing of waterproofing materials to
protect from damages and moisture to prevent from setting.
• Only required material should be carried to the work place to carry out the
activity.
• Ensure all chasing and core cutting for MEP shall be completed.
During waterproofing work:
• Surface preparation is the essential first stage treatment of a substrate before
the application of any coating. The performance of a coating is significantly
influenced by its ability to adhere properly to the substrate material.
• ENSURE: All rubbish, loose mortars, water stagnation, construction debris,
exposed rods and other materials if any shall be removed before starting the
waterproofing job-(civil scope)

• Before starting the actual waterproofing treatment, the surface is leaned from
loose materials like sand and dust by Grinding/wire brush and finally cleaned
with air blower.
Drain out -Core cut at slab (Vertically)
• Check for core cutting is done for plumbing sleeves.
• Bore packing: Filling the gap between the pipes with Rapid setting cement
based water stopping mortar Fosroc Render Plug the dry powders which
requires only the site addition of clean water to produce a highly consistent,
rapid setting mortar which is easy to apply in many difficult conditions. The
material is based on a blend of cements, graded aggregates, special fillers and
chemical additives which control the rate of set and minimise the risk of
thermal cracking.Renderoc Plug provides an initial set time of approximately
one minute.Design criteria Renderoc Plug can be applied to horizontal, vertical
for around RCC surface and PVC pipe.
• Ensure doing proper curing for 12 hours after the application of Fosroc Render
Plug.

Angle fillet:-
• “V” grooves shall be cut along the wall – slab joint for 3-5mm and bonding coat
of 2:1:1 cement, water and FOSROC NITOBOND SBR is applied over the
grooves and haunching the corners of size (25mm x 25mm) using CM
1:4(1part of cement& 4parts of sand)
• Initial testing: The area to be waterproofed shall be ponded with water for a
minimum height of 50 mm for 24 hours and check for leakages / dampness.
• Pressure Grouting: In Case of Any leakage found PVC Nozzles shall be fixed at
leakages/dampness locations using fast setting plugging compound Fosroc
Render Plug. Pressure grouted using neat cement slurry admixed with
expansive grouting additive Fosroc cebec 100 (Powder) At a dosage of 100
grams per bag of cement using hand pump up to 40PSI. (Additional Cost)
APPLICATION OF MAIN WATERPROOFING COATING
• Apply FOSROC NITOBOND SBR in RCC Surface(Consumption of 2to 3m2/litre)
• Apply the material with roller (or) Paint brush.
• Acrylic polymer modified protective waterproofing system Fosroc Brushbond
applied (after 1hours of FOSROC NITOBOND SBR application) in two coats
on floor and on walls up to a height of 300mm from the Mother Slab at
coverage of 1.4 kg/ sqm.(Self curing 24 hours)
• First coat @ 0.7/Kg per sqmt and second coat should be 0.7 kg /per sqmt.
• Second coat can be applied within 4 to 6 hours from the first coat (or) has
reached touch dry state.
• Final testing: The waterproofed area shall be ponded with water for a
minimum height of 50 mm for 48 hours and check for leakages / dampness.
WATERPROOFING PROTECTION PLASTER OVER THE WATERPROOFING

You shall provide Water, electricity and for grouting work Scaffolding wherever
required free of cost. Cement & Sand will be free supply material @ site.
