if you are going to sew the belly with cotton/acrylic yarn.

Secure the ends with some knots and hide them inside when sewing the belly.

HOW TO MAKE THE WINGS - FULL TUTORIAL

MAKE 2

Start with pink color yarn:

1: 6 SC in MR 1- (6)

2: 6 INC 2- (12)

3: (SC, INC) x6 3- (18)

4: (2 SC, INC) x6 4- (24)

5: (3 SC, INC) x6 5- (30)

Fold in half and crochet through both sides of the piece:

6: 15 SC 6- (15)

Do not stuff the wings and do not fasten off. Color change to
green color yarn:

Chain 1 and turn the piece. We will now create the bottom
border of the wing.

WING STITCH MEANS: (HDC, DC, HDC) – All in the same stitch.

Working in the FLO from round 6, make the following sequence:

WING STITCH, SC, SLST, SC, WING STITCH, SC, 2 SLST, SC,
WING STITCH, SC, SLST, SC, WING STITCH, SLST

Do not fasten off, continue working with the wing on next page.
12

:
Now we will create the top border of the wing by working in the
stitches along the center of the fold.

Continue working by making SC through those stitches. Finish

with a SLST.

Once you have finished the top border, fasten off, and leave a
long tail for sewing later.

Repeat for the other wing.

Once you have crocheted both wings, you might need to bring the
left wing’s yarn tail to the other side of the piece in order to have
both wings mirrored for sewing later.

:
With pin needles, mark the path where you want the wing bones to be.

For creating the wing bones, we will join a new strand of green yarn to the
first pointed tip at the bottom of the wing, and SLST into the first stitch
where the pin needle is. (going through only the top part of the folded piece)

Continue making SLST across the piece, and follow the path made with the
pin needles.

Once you have finished the first line of the wing bones, fasten off and hide
the ends inside.

Repeat for all the other wing bones like shown in the pictures.
13

Use the sewing needle to assemble the different parts to the body.

BELLY:

Place the belly on the body and mark with some pin needles where you want the
belly to be. This will help you visualize the position. Make some changes if needed
until you feel the position is right.

Now secure the belly on that spot with some pin needles and start sewing the
belly to the body.

I personally recommend using cotton/acrylic yarn for sewing large pieces.

LEGS: Sew the legs onto the front part of the body, between rounds 7-13, around
9 stitches apart from each other. Half of the legs should be placed over the belly.
14

ARMS:

Place and sew the arms onto the sides of the body, between rounds 17-21,
around 17 stitches apart from each other on the back-side. You can also sew the
front of the arm to the body if you want to keep the arm static.

TAIL:

Sew the tail onto the lower back of the body on rounds 7-11, centered between
the arms and legs.
15

HORNS:

Secure the horns with some pin needles and sew them onto the top part of the
head, between rounds 15-18, leaving 5 visible stitches between them.

EARS:

Sew the ears onto the sides of the head, just below the lower part of the horns.

HEAD:

Secure the head in the right position with knitting needles, then sew it onto the
body by using cotton/acrylic yarn. Stuff the body firmly before closing the leftover
hole.
16

WINGS:

Sew the wings onto the back of the body, 2 rounds above the arms and 3 stitches
apart from each other. Secure the front part on the wing by sewing down some
stitches to the front part of the body.

DETAILS:

Use pink chenille yarn to make the cheeks under the eyes, and black
cotton/acrylic yarn for details like eyebrows and nostrils.
