VII. Rationale

This seminar provides an opportunity for students to learn about the significance of
Microbiology and Parasitology in their field of work in the future—healthcare. This will explore
the fundamental subject matters that Microbiology and Parasitology takes part in the healthcare
system for students to learn what the underlying factors they are to be knowledgeable of when
they are facing their future professions. Moreover, this will give the students an opportunity to
understand the complexity of Microbiology and Parasitology, which in turn will provide them
health and environmental benefits that they can apply to themselves and others. Furthermore, this
seminar will also partake in the student’s engagement by allowing them to share their personal
experiences and insights about the topic, thereby making interactions that help learn and share
knowledge with others.

VIII. Objectives
● To empower the students and their peers to become advocates for managing infection
control, food safety in the hospital, and patient safety - antimicrobial resistance.;
● To enhance their knowledge and skills in promoting patient safety by implementing
appropriate interventions and advocating for patient well-being, and;
● To share their knowledge, understanding, and personal experiences about Microbiology
and Parasitology in healthcare with peers and healthcare professionals to promote
learning and collaboration.
