English is the first language of many people in countries outside the United Kingdom. When you

Sleep is very important to human beings. The average person spends 220,000 hours, about a third
of his life time, sleeping. Until about 30 years ago, no one knew much about sleep, although doctors
and scientists have done research in sleep laboratories, they have learnt a great deal by studying
people as they are sleeping, but there is still much that they don’t understand. Sleeping, which is
known as a biological need, is the resting state in which the body is not active and the mind is
