SAFETY SWITCH AND SAFETY BREAKERS shall be “G.E. / SCHNEIDER” or approved equivalent.
WIRES AND CABLES: “DURAFLEX / PHILFLEX” or approved equivalent.
Shall be insulated for 600 volts Feeders, sub-feeders and branch circuit wires and cables shall be
copper, soft drawn and annealed, of 98% conductivity, type THHN, THWN or THW only.
Wires shall be of recent manufacturer and in no case be more than one year old. Any conductor
whose insulation shows sign of deterioration within one year from final acceptance of work shall
be replaced by the Contractor at his own expense. Sufficient length of slack shall be left inside
boxes, hand holes/manholes and for splicing and/or connecting to apparatus without straining
the cable.
LIGHTING FIXTURES: “EPITAX CLARO” or approved equivalent. Samples of fixtures shall be
submitted for approval by the Engineer prior to fabrication or installation.
WIRING DEVICES: “FULL COLOR WIDE SERIES – PANASONIC” of approved equivalent.
Wiring devices shall be Parallel type with grounding terminal.
JUNCTION AND PULL BOXES:
A. Junction and pull boxes, code gauge steel, galvanized shall be provided as indicated or as
required for facilitating the pulling of wires and cables. Pull boxes in finished places shall be
located and installed with the permission and to the satisfaction of the Architect.
B. Boxes shall be as manufactured by “QUAPCOR” or approved equivalent.
WIRES AND CABLES:
A. All wire shall be copper, soft-drawn and annealed, shall be 98% conductivity, shall be smooth
and true of a cylindrical form and shall be within 1% of the actual size called for.
B. All wires and cables shall be manufactured by “DURAFLEX / PHILFLEX” or approved equal.
TESTS DURING INSTALLATION:
A. The following tests shall be conducted by the Contractor during installation of wiring and system
components. Any deficiency pertaining to these requirements shall be corrected by the
Contractor prior to final functional and operational tests of the system.
B. GROUND RESISTANCE:
The resistance of each connection to ground shall be measured and shall not exceed 5 ohms.
C. DIELECTRIC STRENGHTH AND INSULATION RESISTANCE:
The dielectric strength and insulation resistance of the system interconnecting wiring shall be
tested by means of an instrument capable of generating 500 volts direct current and equipped
to indicate leakage current in 1000 mega ohm.
TESTS UPON COMPLETION:
A. Upon completion of the installation, the system shall subjected to complete functional and
operational tests including tests in place of each detector. When all required corrections have
been accomplished, the system shall retested and the Engineer notified of readiness for final
inspection. At this time any and all required tests shall be rated and any defects corrected until
the system is found to be acceptable. The contractor shall furnish all instruments, labor and
materials required for the tests, and a qualified technician to conduct the tests.
FIRE ALARM SYSTEM
GENERAL:
The system shall feature the latest design in fire detection and lifesaving equipment. It shall
incorporate a versatile Conventional Fire Alarm System that continuously monitors any early
sign of fire to prevent loss of property and lives. The equipment, such as Smoke Detectors,
Manual Call Point and the signaling devices shall be installed in all appropriate locations. Each
electrical rooms and lobbies shall have an automatic detection as well as manual triggering
devices. The sounder or signaling equipment shall be located on areas that the sound be audible
on all areas of units being protected to forewarn any person or tenants within the area. The
system shall have a Manual call point to manually trigger an alarm to give notice to the
maintenance, security personnel, building manager, that there were danger or somebody needs
help on a particular floor or area. The system shall trigger a pre-signal alarm for the guards,
maintenance or administrator that there was a fire on going on a particular floor.
The control panel shall give visual as well as audible signal to guide the user the source of alarm,
for them to investigate and coordinate with proper authority the extent of fire. During the pre-
alarm condition, the maintenance or guard can silence the signal if it is false or let alarm sounds
continuously until the timing circuit has lapse and gives a General Alarm for evacuation and
prevent the loss of properties and lives.
CONVENTIONAL FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL:
The control panel shall indicate the location of triggering, removal of equipment, the status of
the control panel itself and the unit shall be solid state make and using the latest processor. The
systems circuit shall be fully supervised. The control panel shall incorporate a backup battery
that can operate the system on a normal condition.
SMOKE DETECTORS: “GOALSTAR” brand or approved equivalent.
The Smoke Detectors shall also be addressable / conventional and compatible to the Fire Alarm
System Control. It shall feature a photoelectric type of sensing element and easier to clean the
chamber for maintenance. It shall be located on lobbies and electrical rooms and offices that
need extra protection from the early stage of fire.
HEAT DETECTORS: “GOALSTAR” brand or approved equivalent.
The Heat Detectors shall also be conventional and compatible to the Fire Alarm System Control.
Heat Detectors shall be used inside the units within the building were protection were also
needed, but less sensitive to smoke to avoid false alarm when smoke were accumulated. It shall
be a fixed type of heat sensing that shall trigger when the heat rises to 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
MANUAL CALL POINT: “GOALSTAR” brand or approved equivalent.
Manual Call Point shall be located on areas accessible to person who detects that there where
was a fire going on within the building. This device shall be conventional, and can be triggered
manually by breaking the protective glass within the front face. Manual Call points can only be
reset by authorized personnel of the building using a special key to prevent children or other
pranksters from playing. It shall be located near stairs for easy access.
FIRE ALARM BELLS: “GOALSTAR” brand or approved equivalent.
The bells shall be the standard 6 inch diameter under dome type of gong, red finished and shall
be audible giving off at least 85 decibels of sound, audible enough for the employees to hear.
