Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSC Bank)sets up country's first cyber security
operations centre
 Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSC
Bank) has launched India’s first Cyber-

Security Operations Centre (C-SOC)

specifically for cooperative banks.

 The facility, named Sahakar Suraksha, is
located in Vashi, Navi Mumbai and was

established with an investment of ₹50 crore.

 It offers round-the-clock cybersecurity

monitoring using AI-enabled systems and is operated by a team of 35 cybersecurity

professionals.
 The centre currently serves 31 district central cooperative banks in Maharashtra, free of
charge.

 The C-SOC has already prevented a major cyberattack on a bank in Sindhudurg by issuing
an early alert.
 Over 1 million cyberattacks have been reported across cooperative banks, with some

individual incidents causing losses of up to ₹50 crore.

 In addition to threat monitoring, the C-SOC provides cyber hygiene training, security audits,
and digital security policy support to member banks.

 This initiative helps cooperative banks meet RBI guidelines and comply with Supreme Court
directives on protecting depositor funds.
 MSC Bank’s model sets an example for other states to replicate for strengthening rural and

cooperative bank security nationwide.

 Kant was appointed G20 Sherpa in 2022, a role that gained prominence during India’s

 He also highlighted the presidency’s focus on inclusive, people-centric governance, with

G20 meetings held across all Indian states and union territories.
 Among key outcomes of India’s G20 term was the inclusion of the African Union as a
permanent member—a move Kant described as aligned with India’s commitment to “global

equity and the voice of the Global South”.

as the new managing director and head for India.

 This development comes on the heels of Sandhya

Devanathan assuming an expanded role, where she
now leads both India and South East Asia.
 Srinivas will formally step into his new role on July 1,

2025, and will continue to report to Devanathan.

 In this expanded capacity, Srinivas will be responsible

for aligning Meta’s business, innovation, and revenue priorities to better serve its partners
and clients in India.

 His mandate includes driving the long-term growth of Meta’s operations in the country and

deepening its strategic relationships with advertisers, developers, and key industry

stakeholders.
 Srinivas is currently the director and head of ads business in India, a role in which he has

led Meta’s collaboration with major advertisers and agencies.

 Since joining the company in 2020, he has been instrumental in pushing forward key
revenue drivers such as AI, Reels, and Messaging.

 With nearly 30 years of experience in sales and marketing, Srinivas has previously held
senior leadership roles at top companies including Hindustan Unilever, Reebok, Ola, and

WestBridge Capital.

 The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has amended

Law 19.5.2 to eliminate the “bunny hop” boundary

catch.
 Effective June 17, 2025, in ICC matches (and

October 2026 in the MCC Laws), any fielder who

leaps from beyond the rope may only touch the ball

once while airborne and must land inside the playing

area before making further contact—otherwise, the

delivery is automatically deemed a boundary.

Key Highlights:
 Single Airborne Touch: Fielders may make one contact with the ball after jumping from
outside the boundary.

 Mandatory In-Field Landing: After that touch, the fielder’s first ground contact must be inside
the ropes, or it counts as a boundary.

 ICC Implementation: Rule applies from June 17, 2025, marking the start of the new World
Test Championship cycle.
