Notification for Walk-in-Interview for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
A walk-in interview is scheduled to be held at Visakhapatnam Regional Centre of ICAR- Central
Marine Fisheries Research Institute for the recruitment of 1 No. (one) of Junior Research Fellow under the
Department of Biotechnology (DBT) sponsored project works at ICAR-Visakhapatnam Regional
Centre. Eligible candidates fulfilling all the requirements are advised to send their bio-data along with

Shortlisted candidates will be intimated by e-mail and only those who receive communication may appear
for the walk-in interview on the specified date and time. This recruitment is purely on a temporary basis for
a period of one year or till completion of project. The details of eligibility conditions and other
information are given below:

Emoluments Rs. 37,000/- + 18% HRA per month for the first two years &
third year Rs 42,000/- + HRA per month will be given after the
performance of review process
Essential Post Graduate degree in professional courses (MFSc, etc)
Qualification specialized in Genetics/Biotechnology/Aquaculture/Nutrion &
Biochemistry/Fish Resource management, etc with experience in
biotechnology/molecular biology.
Post Graduate Degree (MSC) in life science/Zoology/Marine
Science/Aquaculture/Marine Biotechnology, etc. specialized in
Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Genetics, /
Bioinformatics/etc.
The candidate compulsorily should have NET/GATE or selected
in National level examinations conducted by national institutions
or organizations.
Desirable Candidates should have hands on experience in any of the fields
such as Polymerase Chain Reaction, Real time PCR,
Bioinformatics analysis of transcriptome/whole gene sequencing
data. Should have adequate knowledge on computer
documentation, analytical skills, and bioinformatics knowledge.
Prior experience in working on fish molecular techniques are
very essential/preferable.
Nature of work Place of posting will be at ICAR-CMFRI, Visakhapatnam
Regional Centre, Visakhapatnam. Work involves experimental
fish maintenance/management, testing of samples, gene
expression studies, bioinformatics analysis, help in fish genome
data base development, fish genome data base maintenance.
Place of work Visakhapatnam RC of ICAR-CMFRI, Visakhapatnam
Age limit 35 years for men and 40 years for women as on 14-08-2025. Age
relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per GOI
norms.

Terms and Conditions:
1. All the original certificates from matriculation onwards must be sent in scanned form to

applicants would not be allowed to appear for interview. Candidates should produce one
valid ID proof at the time of interview.
2. Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination.
3. The competent authority has the right to terminate without assigning any reason at any
time.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing for the interview.
5. If any of his/her near or distant relative is an employee of the ICAR-CMFRI, the candidate
intending to attend the interview has to declare his/her name, designation, nature of duties,
relationship in writing as detailed in ANNEXURE-II, and communicate to the undersigned
by post or through e‐mail at [email protected].
6. All the candidates are required compulsorily to furnish the declaration as detailed in
ANNEXURE-I and ANNEXURE-II duly signed and submit.
7. The total number of vacancies may vary depending on other requirements, if any, on the
date of interview.
8. Candidates should produce the No Objection Certificate from their present employer, if
any.
9. The appointment of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) would be on full time basis and he/she
would not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the period of engagement
with ICAR-CMFRI.
10. The decision of the Director, ICAR-CMFRI will be final and binding in all respects.
11. The selected candidates shall not claim for any regular appointments at this institute as the
above positions are purely contractual, non-regular, time-bound.
