1 Overview
CNC GUIDE is a PC software to simulate FANUC CNC’s.
CNC GUIDE 2 is a core technology of digital twin for FANUC CNC.
 It is possible to simulate tool-path and cycle-time accurately by reproduction of CNC
movement, e.g. acceleration/deceleration and smoothing functions.
 It is possible to optimize tool-path by use with Tool Path Optimizer, and to simulate
machined surface by use with Surface Estimation. It is possible to develop and debug
custom screen and ladder programming by use with FANUC PICTURE and FANUC
LADDER III.
 It is possible to reproduce CNC of machine tool on the digital easily by acquiring CNC
data, e.g. parameters, programs and FANUC PICTURE.
 It is possible to train for CNC operation with a similar feeling to machine tool by
connecting MOP simulator by USB-cable, which is integrated MDI with operator’s
panel. The “MOP simulator” must be purchased separately (See A-97238-00001EN/01).

It has features such as:

• Enables you to display and operate the basic screens of CNC.
• Enables you to edit machining programs.
• Enables you to set tool offsets and so on.
• Enables you to perform a part program format checks through program operation.
• The application of the MACRO EXECUTOR can be executed.
• The application of the C-LANGUAGE EXECUTOR can be executed.
• The FOCAS2 function can be used.
• The FANUC PICTURE functions can be executed.
• The ladder program of the PMC function can be executed and be edited.
• The application of iHMI can be executed.
• It can be connected to SERVO VIEWER and you can acquire data equivalent to the
CNC command position. The acquired data can be used with the machined surface
estimation function of SERVO VIEWER.
• It can be linked with machining support tools and development tools.

Realization of more realistic simulation by using Servo Model which reflects
characteristics of controlled axes 10 times faster simulation than actual machining.

• Output of a virtual position reproducing a lag of servo system, vibration by

acceleration/deceleration, etc.
• More realistic simulation of machined surface
• Reduction of trial cutting working with Surface Estimation

• Acquiring multiple results from combination of CNC parameters automatically by
scheduling execution

High-speed simulation function

• Even for machining programs with long operation time, CNC simulation can be
performed in a short time.
• In high-speed mode, it is possible to execute CNC programs at up to 60 times the
actual machining speed and verify cycle times.

4 Important Notes about the Software License
4.1 Software License may become invalid
The license is checking any change of the PC hardware, regardless of whether it is a
physical PC or a virtual PC (VM). In case such change is detected, the license may be
invalidated to prevent unauthorized use.
In case of a VM, not only hardware changes, but also changes to resources (vCPU, memory,
etc.) through settings and data restoration using snapshots may be considered as PC
modifications and result in an invalidated license.
To prevent this, it is possible to protect the license by deactivating the license before
modifying the PC or settings on a VM.
After the modification, the license can be activated again, using the original License Ticket.

4.2 Reissue License

In case the Software License became invalid (blocked) due to loss, theft, disposal,
breakdown or modification of the PC that contains the activated license, it is not possible to
reactivate this license. However, FANUC offers the possibility to purchase a Reissue
License for low cost.
Reissues are limited to two times. You will need to purchase the full license from the 3rd
time onwards. For details, please contact our sales representative.

4.3 Use on Virtual PC (VM)

Since April 2025 the software CNC GUIDE 2 can be used on Virtual Machines.
For that, a license ticket is necessary that supports the use with a VM. License tickets
purchased after March 2025 are supporting VM’s.
You can check whether the license ticket supports VM at the DUCNET-site:

In case your actual license does not support VM, but you need to use the software on a VM,
FANUC offers you the possibility to purchase a “Reissue Ticket” for low cost. Please contact
our sales representative.

5 Installation
5.1 Software installation
Operating System: Windows 10 (64bit) Version 21H1 or later (32bit not possible)
Windows 11
Admin rights are required to install CNC GUIDE 2.
When CNC GUIDE 2 and CNC GUIDE are installed in the same PC, it is necessary to update both of them to
version 25.00 or later.
Only one CNC GUIDE 2 can start at the same PC.
The machine composition data of CNC GUIDE is also available for CNC GUIDE 2. Do not use data with CNC
GUIDE 2 specific features in CNC GUIDE.

3.

5.2 License installation and activation

Together with the software the License Manager is installed.
In case of the single-user license the License Manager is installed on the same PC as the software.
In case of multi-user licenses the License Manager must be installed on the network license server. The
software must not be installed on this license server.
The software license cannot be activated in the virtual environment.
If you use CNC GUIDE 2 in the virtual environment, you use it on your own risk.
The TCP/UDP packet is transmitted when CNC GUIDE 2 is used by the network license and the network is
communicated.
The 22350 port is used for the transmission.
When these communications cannot be done by the firewall software and Switching hub, etc., the function
concerning the network license cannot be used. In that case, please set the firewall and Switching hub, etc.
to communicate.
After activating the license, do not change the hardware.
If you change the hardware, the license might be locked.
So, before changing the hardware of the PC temporarily return the license to the license server.
