Content Standard: The pupils will understand the Holy Trinity in the light of the teachings of
the Catholic Church and have a deeper relationship with the Triune God.

Doctrine: Deepen one’s understanding of the Holy Trinity
Morals: Respond with joy to the grace received from the Holy Trinity
Worship: Celebrate the love of the Holy Trinity through reflection and prayers

Procedure
1. Activity:
Instruction: Tell them the story of the sign of the cross .

2. Analysis:
1. Imagine that you are teaching catechism for Grade 3 students and discussing the sign of
the cross. Suddenly, a young girl aks you, “ Why do we have to make the sign of the
cross before and after praying?” What will be your reply?
2. You shared with a friend the meaning of God’s grace. Sadly, your friend refused to
believe. Instead, he argued that” if God helps everyone to do good, then why is it that
there are some people who do bad things? What will be your response?
3. You and your friends decided to eat in a restaurant. Before eating, you invited everyone
except one person made the sign of the cross and prayed. After eating, you asked your
friend why he did not pray. He said, “There were so many people in the restaurant.
Reflection Questions:
 I may have become a little bit too self-conscious.” what will you say to your friend”?

3. Abstraction:
 Mystery of the most Holy Trinity
 God is one
 The three Divine person in the Holy Trinity are equal in dignity.
 The three Divine person in the Holy trinity are distinct.
 God is Love.

4. Application (Formative Assessment):


Individual activity: Trinity Journal Walk (25–30 minutes)
 This is a reflective, semi-silent walk

Instructions:
 Students carry a journal and go to 3 different “reflection stations” (or areas of the
room if inside).
Each station is labeled:
 Station 1: God the Father (Creation & Care)
 Station 2: God the Son (Love & Sacrifice)
 Station 3: God the Holy Spirit (Inspiration & Action)
At each station, students read a short scripture or quote and answer a reflection prompt in their
journal.

Examples of prompts:

God the Father:


 "How do I see God as my Father in my everyday life?"
 Scripture: Genesis 1:27 or Psalm 139:13-14
God the Son:
 "What does Jesus' sacrifice mean to me personally?"
 Scripture: John 3:16 or Romans 5:8
God the Holy Spirit:
 "When have I felt the Holy Spirit guide or strengthen me?"
 Scripture: Galatians 5:22–23 or John 14:26

5. Assessment:
Instruction: Describe each statement
1. As Catholic, we believe in One God in Three Divine Person.
2. We call upon and glorify the Holy Trinity when we pray the sign of the Cross.

6. Assignment:
Instruction: In your notebook, write a personal prayer to the Trinity.

7. Generalization:

-The Trinity is the central mystery of our Christian faith.
-God is one divine nature, but exists in three Persons:

God the Holy Spirit (Sanctifier)
-The three Persons are equal, eternal, and inseparable, yet distinct.
