This symbol alerts you that important literature concerning LASER RADIATION STEP 1: IDENTIFYING CORRECT TUBE CENTER
operation and maintenance has been included with this product The geometric center of tubes of most C arms do not coincide with the actual Image Center. The aim of step 1 is to have a

clear sticker on the tube corresponding to the image center. We shall use the Tube Stickers provided with the kit to
permanently mark this center position on the X ray tube cover using following process
This symbol identifies location of a laser aperture from which LASER
laser radiation is emitted.
1 – Take the Metal wire Cross provided in the kit and create a cross at the center of the imager. Most grids in imager have a
small dot at the center. Place the wires such that they intersect at the imager Center and stick it there. (See FIG 1)
- This apparatus uses batteries. In your community there might be regulations that require you to dispose of these
batteries properly under environmental considerations. Please contact your local authorities for disposal or recycling
- Take an Image shot. You shall get the cross Image on the monitor (See FIG 2)
information
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire
-Mark a dot on the Monitor (using a removable marker pen) corresponding to the intersection of the cross on the image.
- Do not short circuit, disassemble or overheat the batteries
This is the Imager Center as well as Image Center (See FIG 2) as represented on the monitor(FIG 3).
- Use the batteries with correct polarity in series as described within the battery box.
- Please use correct batteries (AA Type) in correct polarity and direction. Wrong polarity can lead to short circuit or FIG 1 FIG 2 FIG 3 FIG 4 FIG 5 FIG 6
damage.
- Do not drop or impart any mechanical shock to the product.
- Ensure the device is secured properly to the Imager before completion of installation
- Apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing. Use appropriate Sterile Drapes as defined in the User Manual. IMAGE OF THE CROSS A DOT IS MARKED ON PUT TUBE CENTER

tube
CONTENTS OF THE LASER KIT - Carefully place the TUBE CENTER STICKER on it such that the intersection of the plus mark on the sticker coincides with the
point marked on the tube cover (see FIG 6)
The LASER KIT contains following items
LASER RING :1 per kit consisting of two pre-installed TUBE STICKERS: 2 per kit - The tube center which is true to the IMAGER and IMAGE CENTER is now identified and suitably marked for laser alignment.
Lasers of 650nm 5mW power and running on 4.5 V. ( one extra to allow assembly errors)
STEP 2: INSTALLATION OF THE LASER RING
- Remove the screw from top of both the laser covers as shown in FIG 7
- Release the laser cover by opening the snaps on the cover by accessing the snaps with a simple screw driver from the holes
in the backside of the device (FIG 8)

REPLACEMENT OF BATTERIES
- Open the screw on the battery box and replace batteries with AA size
1.5 V batteries in the polarity as mentioned Inside the box. Replace cover
and tighten screw after replacing batteries.

ISSUE ACTION TO BE TAKEN
- Install the laser on the Imager. Place the laser such that it is parallel to the edge of the Imager and the Battery Box faces the
Laser does not turn ON - Please check whether switch near the battery box is switched ON
C side. This is illustrated in FIG 9.
- Please check if batteries are to be replaced
- Please check if batteries are installed in correct order & sequence
- Ensure ring is properly secured by tightening the screw inside the joint as shown in FIG 10. Pull the ring down manually and
ensure it is secure, else add additional rubber strips given to tighten the ring around the device. - Register a Service call if none of the above works
Laser Ring does not sit tightly - Tighten the screw inside the joint till laser is secure as in Fig 10
STEP 3: ALIGNMENT OF THE LASER - Add extra rubber padding to increase tightening pressure
Laser not aligned to tube center - Ensure tube center marked on Tube cover is correct as in STEP 1
- Rotate the screws on left and right of the laser and adjust its angle so that the laser line emitted passes through the TUBE -Re Align the Laser and ensure the alignment screws hold the laser block
STICKER stuck on the tube. This is shown in FIG 11 tight as in FIG 11 post alignment.
ADJUSTMENT SCREWS ON BOTH ENDS Laser Cover seems loose. - Ensure laser cover is snapped back after alignment properly and top
Locking screw is in place.
- Register a service call if none of above works
Laser seems distorted/weak - Please see if exit window is stained/dirty or badly scratched
- Please verify laser quality after removing disposable drapes you are
Using. Laser quality shall be clean only with certain disposable drapes.
- Contact service center to identify best disposable drapes to use in
PRODUCT MAINTENANCE
PRODUCT MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES
FIG 11 : ADJUST LASER LINE SO THAT IT PASSES
LASER LINE - Always use product with Sterile Drapes in the Operating Theater.
THROUGH CROSS POINT ON TUBE STICKER
- Prevent spillage or accumulation of possibly infectious fluids during use of product
- Ensure screw is tightened from both sides once aligned so that it does not mis-align later
- Clean regularly with generic Sterilizing agents with a damp cloth. DO not spray liquid directly onto the device.
- Fit back the Laser covers by SNAPPING them back in and putting the screw on top by reversing the sequences as shown in
- Verify Laser is aligned to Tube sticker periodically to ensure accuracy of indication
FIG 8 & 7
- Remove batteries if the product is not to be used for long periods to prevent leakage/damage of batteries which may
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Once snapped back, the Laser Cover cannot be removed unless the ring is removed from the Imager.
affect product performance.
This is done to prevent tampering of laser alignment by stray people. Hence snap back the cover only when you are sure you
don't need to reopen for alignment.
- Laser is now ready to use through the switch besides the battery box.
