6, Nơi chốn, địa điểm( places)
IELTS speaking part 2
Describe an interesting place that you visited as a tourist.
You should say:
Where is this place
Why you went there
What you did there
and explain why you thought this place was interesting.
Last summer holiday I went to Mai Chau with my family. It was such a beautiful place.
Unlike in the city with buildings everywhere, the countryside(nông thôn, vùng quê)
only had a few houses/iz/. There were open green fields(cánh đồng) as far as the eyes
could see. Next to these fields, there were huge lakes (hồ) way bigger than West lake in
Ha Noi and also long beautiful rivers(sông) with the water. It was so clear that you could
see the bottom(. But Mai Chau wasn’t just a flat area(khu vực, diện tích) of land.
On: ở trên, under: ở dưới, next to:bên cạnh; đằng trước: in front of, behind: đằng sau,
between: ở giữa, above: ở bên trên; top: đỉnh; bottom: đáy; near: gần; far: xa
Just outside the window of our hotel room, there was a large hill(đồi) rising hundreds of
meters above the ground. The hill was completely(hoàn toàn) covered( được bao phủ) by
tree, and during our trip we got to join the village(làng) people in going into the
forest(rừng)to pick up fruits. The path(lối đi, going up the hill was difficult but when we
got to the top, we could see the entire area just like looking down from a plane. All in
all, we had a wonderful trip( chuyến đi tuyệt vời) and I can’t wait to go back to Mai Chau
again.

b,Ứng dụng vào IELTS
Part 1: when do you wake up?
Well, I usually wake up quite(khá) early, around 6 o’clock in the morning. I like starting
my day early because it gives me some quiet time to plan my schedule(kế hoạch làm
việc/lịch trình) and get things done without any distractions(sự xao lãng). On weekends,
though, I might sleep in a bit and wake up around 7 or 8, just to relax and catch up on
rest=take a rest: nghỉ ngơi/ngủ bù.
How was your morning?
This morning was pretty standard(khá là bình thường) for me. I woke up around 7 a.m
and I laid in bed for a bit, scrolling through(lướt) my phone. Eventually, I got up,
brushed/t/ my teeth, and headed/id/ straight to the kitchen.
What part of the day do you like most?
Actually, I really enjoy the early morning, just after sunrise(bình minh). It’s usually very
peaceful and quiet(yên bình và tĩnh lặng), and I find that I can focus(tập trung) better
during this time. I often go for a short walk/work or do some light exercise, which helps
me feel refreshed/t/(sảng khoái) and ready for the day ahead. I also love the fresh air and
the soft light in the morning, which creates(tạo ra) a calm and positive(tích cực)><
negative(tiêu cực) mood (tâm trạng)
Do you think it is important to have a daily routine?
Yes, I do think having a daily routine is quite important. For me, it helps bring structure
to my day and makes it easier to manage my time effectively. When I follow a routine,
I’m less likely to procrastinate and I feel more productive overall. Of course, it’s also
good to be flexible sometimes, but having some regular habits definitely helps me stay
organized and balanced.
