Dear Friends,

Over forty years ago, the Lord called me to be a Bible teacher primarily to the
body of Christ. He revealed to me that with the support of thousands of partners and
friends, I would one day be reaching the world with the message of His grace and
unconditional love. I had no idea how that would come to pass at the time, but through
the years, He has guided us, revealing His plan one step at a time.
In recent months, the Lord has once again been clarifying the vision. I have
understood for decades that He did not tell us to make converts, but rather disciples.
It’s the reason Charis Bible College exists and the reason I have created a library of
teaching materials.
I believe the Lord wants me to spend the rest of my life fulfilling 2 Timothy 2:2,
which says, “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit
thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” In November 2010, I will
be teaching a new series on the Gospel Truth television program, called Discipleship/
Evangelism. I believe it will change the way you look at evangelism. You won’t want to
miss it.

We love you,

Andrew and Jamie

God’s Word has to be planted

like a seed in our hearts.

“And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man

should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep,
and rise night and day, and the seed should spring
and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth
bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the
ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the
fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the
sickle, because the harvest is come.”

In this parable, Jesus used an example of seed,

time, and harvest, which everyone understood, to
illustrate truths about how God’s Word works, which
very few understood.
First, He taught that God’s Word has to be planted
like a seed in our hearts. Just as a seed doesn’t release
its life until it is planted in the ground, God’s Word will
not set us free until we get it in our hearts. Having the
Bible on our tables, in our hands, or in our heads is not
sufficient; we have to commit God’s Word to our hearts.
Second, the man in Jesus’ parable, who sowed the
seed, slept and rose day after day. It takes time for a
seed to germinate. You can’t plant a seed one day and
expect to see it growing the next day. Just because
there’s nothing visible above ground doesn’t mean the
seed is not growing.
If you dig it up every day to see if anything is
happening, it will never grow. You have to have faith
that the seed will do what it was designed by God to do:
produce its fruit in its time.
The Word of God works the same way. When we
meditate in God’s Word for one day, we can’t expect to
see results the next day. And we can’t meditate in His
Word one day a week and then live differently the other
six days. That’s like digging up the seed.
John 15:7-8 says,

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye

shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

College has changed. If you have a computer and
internet connection, CBC will come to you wherever
you are, 24/7 (first-year curriculum only).
CBC Online is an internet-based distance learning
alternative that provides the ideal balance of
interaction, flexibility, and structure.

Interactive: Every class is led by a facilitator from the CBC

staff. After viewing each lesson, you and your fellow classmates
will reply to a follow-up question in a discussion forum where you
can interact and share what you have learned.
Flexible: Study when it works for you, from anywhere on the
planet. Take as many or as few courses as you like each term—you
can even skip a term and begin again in six weeks.
Structured: Each term, you are assigned two lessons per week
for every class in which you are enrolled. To stay on schedule, you
must complete them in the same week. It provides just enough
structure to keep you on track.

CBC CORRESPONDENCE
If you prefer, the Correspondence
Course is available. The first-year
classes are recorded live in DVD
format, with companion syllabuses
and exams.
