The 81th Royal Philex
Preparation of Exhibit Boards.
We would like to inform all the 81st Royal Philex exhibitors, to design their exhibits using the
below mentioned criteria. The themes for the relevant grades/sections are also provided
below. All the exhibits should be made on the exhibit boards sold by the club and should be
submitted before the deadline. Kindly note that the Philatelic Club will hold a special club
meeting on how the exhibits must be prepared and until then, you may ONLY,
- Select the relevant topic according to the grade/section
- Collect the stamps needed for the chosen topic
- Do a rough sketch on how the exhibit would look like
The deadline to handover the exhibit board is on 28th of August 2025 at Nawaragahala
General Rules & Regulations
• Only 40 – 50 stamps will be allowed in the entire exhibit
• Use only one of the following fonts [Calibri (Body), Calibri Light, Arial, Bell MT, Ebrima,
Tahoma, Century] throughout the exhibit. (Bold, Italic and Underline can be used)
• Font size is 10 – 16
• The exhibits must be made using the exhibit boards that the club will provide.
• No highlighted text or colored fonts are allowed.
• If required only, 02 first day cover can be used for the entire exhibit.
•Also 01 souvenir sheet can be used in the exhibit board if required.
• Stamps are required to be pasted after wrapping them in standard stamp wrapping polythene
sheets. The club will be giving them along with the boards; they are also available for purchase
from the Philatelic Bureau, D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 07.
Note: Kindly adhere to the above rules and regulations to ensure a quality exhibit.
If any exhibit fails to do so:
The exhibits will be rejected
The exhibits will not be exhibited at the 81st Royal Philex
Procedure
• All the exhibits must be made on the exhibit boards sold by the club.
• Choose one of the topics given relevant to your section.
• Break or categorize the above selected topic into 5 different subtopics.
• Your exhibit should consist of (06) six pages.
• First page of your exhibit must contain a brief introduction about the main topic
and the subtopics and a stamp relevant to each subtopic must be presented.
• The other 5 pages describe the collections according to the 5 subtopics (1 for each page).
• Examples for subtopics given in the below table are just for reference and can be
changed as necessary.
• The exhibit will then be checked by the club, and you will be informed if there any mistakes
• An example of an exhibit board is shown below for reference.

In the Stamp Details as shown in the sample exhibit, the following details or more details
regarding stamp should be mentioned,
•Name of the stamp
•Date of issue
• Colors
• Printing method
• Number of perforations
• Designer
Stamps can be arranged in an orderly manner as necessary and do not have to be exactly as
shown in the example.
Any stamp or necessary writings should be inside the square ruled part of the board and
cannot outside of the borders.
All descriptions should be printed and cannot be handwritten.
The following details should be mentioned in the backside of the exhibit board on all 6 boards,
•Full name
• Class
• School admission number
• Contact number
•Home Address
•Number of stamps
• Page Number
IMPORTANT NOTE: please note the name used in the exhibit will be the name depicted in the
certificate issued.
