Introduction:
We warmly welcome all aspiring medical and dental students to the admission process of
Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University. This booklet provides essential admission information
for applicants seeking entry into the MBBS and BDS programs at STMU for the academic
year 2025–2026. It outlines the eligibility criteria, required entrance tests, merit
calculation methods, and important dates for both local and foreign seat categories.
Applicants are advised to review all details carefully to ensure a smooth and successful
application process.

Local Category Seats Details:


Eligibility Criteria:
✓ Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) in pre-medical group with a
minimum aggregate of 60%.
✓ Passed the subjects of Biology and Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics in
the examination of the Higher Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent 12th-
grade qualification recognized in Pakistan.

Mandatory Requirements for final selection:


✓ Have passed the STMU Entrance test for MBBS & BDS. STMU entrance test
comprises of theory and oral parts.
✓ Have passed the PM&DC MDCAT examination.
✓ Shortlisted and appeared in Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs) conducted by STMU.

Special Instructions for selection criteria of Local Category seats:


✓ All candidates applying to the MBBS/BDS program under the Local Category Seats
are required to take the STMU Entrance Test (Theory) for MBBS & BDS.
✓ All candidates applying to the MBBS/BDS program under the Local Category Seats
are required to take PM&DC – MDCAT test.
✓ Applicants are required to submit the valid PM&DC MDCAT results to STMU
within one week after the declaration of results of PM&DC MDCAT.

✓ Only short-listed applicants on the basis of STMU Entrance Test (Theory) and
PM&DC – MDCAT test will be called for Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs).

Foreign /Overseas Quota Seats Details:


Eligibility Criteria:
✓ Obtained a Higher Secondary School Certificate qualification (HSSC) or an
equivalent 12th- grade qualification recognized in Pakistan and have obtained a
minimum of 60% marks therein.
✓ Passed the subjects of Biology and Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics in
the examination of the Higher Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent 12th-
grade qualification recognized in Pakistan
✓ Proof of permanent foreign nationality or valid Iqama.

Mandatory Requirements for final selection:


✓ Have passed the STMU Entrance Test for MBBS & BDS (Theory)/ PM & DC
MDCAT examination as per PM&DC passing criteria/Sat-II with minimum score of
550 in each subject / Foreign MCAT examination / UCAT or equivalent
examination with 50% marks.
✓ Short listed applicants will be called for Interviews.

Special Instructions on selection criteria of Foreign Category seats:


✓ Candidate shortlisting for interviews, will be based on the relevant test.
✓ Dual Nationals and Overseas Pakistanis are also eligible to apply for local category
by appearing in the STMU Entrance Test for MBBS & BDS (Theory).
✓ Please note that the STMU Entrance Test for MBBS & BDS will only be conducted
in Pakistan.
✓ Final selection will be made upon compilation and verification of the mandatory
admission requirements by the STMU.

Special Category Foreign Quota Seats Details - Revised:

Eligibility Criteria:
✓ Obtained a Higher Secondary School Certificate qualification (HSSC) or an
equivalent 12th- grade qualification recognized in Pakistan and have obtained a
minimum of 60% marks therein
✓ Documentary proof of Foreign Passport

Mandatory Requirements for final selection:


✓ Higher Secondary School Certificate qualification (HSSC) or an equivalent 12th-
grade qualification and have passed Chemistry and Biology as mandatory subjects.
✓ Short listed applicants will be called for Interviews.

Special Instructions on selection criteria of Special Category Foreign Quota Seats:


✓ Selection and admission will be strictly based on the criteria set by PM&DC, as
outlined in the notification dated 21st March 2025.
✓ Only applicants holding a foreign passport are eligible to apply.
✓ Seats allocated under the Federal Government program, as part of bilateral
agreements with other countries, will fall under this category

Obtaining an Equivalence Certificate:


Candidates following systems of education other than Pakistani Higher Secondary School
Certificate [premedical group] must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Inter
Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC). The equivalence certificate should verify that
the candidate’s High School qualification is equivalent to a High School qualification in
Pakistan with a minimum aggregate achievement of 60%.

The STMU Entrance Test for MBBS & BDS (Theory)
✓ STMU Entrance test for MBBS & BDS will be held on Sunday, September 21,
2025.
✓ The test will be conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS) in the following
major cities of Pakistan: Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar,
Lahore, and Multan (Subject to a minimum of 50 candidates; otherwise,
candidates will be assigned to the next nearest test city).
✓ It is a 3-hour paper-based test. The list of topics /curriculum will be available on
the following link: https://www.nts.org.pk/STMU/.
✓ NTS will issue roll number slips containing test details via courier.
✓ The result will be available on the National Testing Service (NTS) website
(www.nts.org.pk) within 10 days after the test.
✓ Candidates are required to upload both their PM&DC MDCAT and STMU
Entrance Test scores on the application portal within one week of their release on
the respective official websites.

Validity of Test Scores:


✓ The STMU Entrance Test for MBBS & BDS scores are valid for consideration only
in the year in which they were written.
✓ The validity of PM&DC’s MDCAT score is determined by the Pakistan Medical and
Dental Council.
✓ The validity of the international admission test will be determined by the
admission committee of STMU.

Online Registration for Admission:


The online admission application portal will open on Tuesday, July 1st, 2025. All
applications must be submitted through this portal. To apply, please visit our website
www.stmu.edu.pk/scm and go through the simple procedure of registration and
submission of an online application. Please note that all students would need an email
address to register and apply to the Online Admission System.

NOTE: Candidates are requested to ensure they meet application eligibility requirements
before applying. The STMU reserves the right to admission; to revoke admission and
registration if an application is discovered to be inaccurate or incomplete, or if supporting
documents are discovered to be fraudulent. Any candidate who presents a fraudulent
document in support of an application for admission may be reported to other universities
and colleges.

Documents To Upload when Applying Online:
❖ Photograph (Your photograph is a vital part of your application. Please follow
these instructions carefully)

✓ Passport-size colored photograph with a white background


✓ File size and format: 1 MB and JPEG format.
✓ The photo should show a clear front view; the full face of the person.
❖ CNIC / NICOP (front & back copy) or relevant Passport pages (for foreign
nationals / Dual National or Overseas Students)

❖ Upload proof of the Application Fee payment:

✓ Rs. 6,000 will be charged for applying to a single program (MBBS or BDS).
Applicants wishing to apply for both programs will be required to pay Rs.
8,000.
✓ USD 100 application fee for international applicants or PKR equivalent
amount for each category of foreign seats individually.
✓ Candidates can pay the application fee through FEE VOUCHER / ONLINE
TRANSFER / THROUGH ATM (IN PAKISTANI CURRENCY).
✓ The application fee for international applicants must be paid via the
designated routing details.
✓ Complete all the steps and print out the application fee voucher. Take the
printed voucher to any branch of Habib Bank Ltd (HBL) and pay the fee.
✓ Please allow time for verification. Once the fee voucher is verified, an email
shall be sent to your registered email for information.
Note: The application fee is non-refundable. (Candidates must ensure eligibility before
applying).

Multiple Mini Interviews:


Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs),
designed to evaluate their aptitude across various domains. MMIs consist of several
interactive stations. At each station, the candidate is presented with a case scenario and is
expected to provide an appropriate response. Performance is evaluated by an examiner
using a standardized checklist. After a set amount of time, the candidate moves on to the
next station.
The stations assess a range of competencies, including Communication Skills, Ethics,
Awareness of the Healthcare System, Critical Thinking/ Problem Solving. Some stations
are Standardized General Interviews that evaluate overall suitability for a career in
medicine, including leadership qualities, emotional intelligence, teamwork, empathy,
creativity, and involvement in extracurricular activities. Candidates showing signs of
behavioral or psychological concerns may be referred to the psychological assessment
team for further evaluation.

Financial Assistance: Financial assistance is available to eligible students as


per the STMU Financial Assistance Policy, which can be accessed at

Refund Policy:
As per the PM&DC policy,
1. If a student, after having obtained admission, seeks to leave the program, the
STMU shall have the right to adjust the tuition fee already paid pro rata to the
period spent by the student in the program, along with a penalty not exceeding ten
percent of the total annual fee.
2. No penalty shall be imposed on a student who withdraws from the program before
the closing date of admissions in private medical/dental colleges, as notified by the
Council.
3. The admission fee is non-refundable.
4. If a student gains admission to a public sector institution, the full fee will be
refunded, except for the admission fee.

Hostel Accommodation:
Students seeking hostel accommodation are advised to submit their requests at the
earliest to enhance the likelihood of securing a place. Please note that STMU cannot
guarantee accommodation for all applicants, especially those who apply late. Hostel rooms
will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.
