USING THE MOUSE
A mouse is a direct-entry pet peripheral that has two or three buttons. A pointing device works on the
principle that first you place the mouse pointer (point to) something on the screen, and then click with the mouse
button to perform an action on that item.
The arrow or any symbol on the screen that moves as you move the mouse is known as the
mouse pointer. The shape of the mouse pointer varies depending on what operation is performed by
the program at the moment. The following terms refer to actions to be performed with the mouse.
Point – refers to moving the mouse pointer to a specific location on the screen where you want
to work on
Click – refers to quickly pressing and releasing the left button of the mouse
Double-click – refers to quickly pressing the left button of the mouse twice
Drag – moving the mouse while holding the left button down
