Cooling water drainage specifications for fiber laser cutting machine
I.Purpose

To avoid unnecessary losses caused by not complete water drainage.

II.Range of application

Drainage for S&A water chiller and Tongfei water chiller, laser source and

laser head.

III.Operation specification

1、Laser source drainage

1)disconnect all the pipes connected to laser source;

2)connect a diversion pipe to the outlet, and put the end of diversion pipe

into a container;

3)blow from the water inlet until it is dry(blow for about 45s);

4)note that there will be water splashes when blow water, please keep the

workshop clean.
2、Laser head and lathe bed pipe drainage

1)put the end of outlet pipe into a container;

2)blow for about 200s;

3)note that there will be water splashes when blow water, please keep the

workshop clean;

4)need to disconnect all the pipes

3、Water chiller drainage


Main drainage parts:water tank,pipes,pump head,filter,deionization tank.

Main drainage steps:

1)Open the drain valve(or drain plug) at the bottom of water tank to drain,

if necessary, the water chiller can be tilted at a certain angle to make the

drainage cleaner;

2)Remove the filter cartridge and deionization cartridge, lash the water

out(especially the deionization cartridge, lash until no water dripping),

to avoid splashing, the amplitude is not recommended too much(Pic1);

3)Pipeline drainage: blow from inlet and outlet with compressed air for 1-2

minutes, force the water in pipeline back to the water tank, then drain from

water tank;

4)Open the water tank lid to observe whether there is residual water

inside(for those lid cannot open need to blow from water inlet with compressed

air to force the water in pipe and pump back to water tank, then drain from

water tank), if yes, tilt the water chiller to drain(Pic2);

5)Pump head drainage(for Tongfei water chiller only):there is a drain bolt

under pump head. Need to open the drain bolt to drain when the water chiller

need to shut down for a long time or transport, it is better to use compressed

air to blow the remaining water in pump head, then tighten the drain

bolt(Pic3);

6)note that there will be water splashes when blow water, please keep the

workshop clean;
7)Open the filter and deionization tank, pour out the residual water, install

the filter cartridge firmly, then install the metal plate in place.

4、Use antifreeze in winter

Antifreeze is needed in winter. The using time of antifreeze is from

15 Nov to 1 Mar of the following year. But if the temperature drops to
th st
5° before 15 Nov or still below 5° after 1 Mar, antifreeze may be used

in advance or postponed. The base fluid of antifreeze generally consists

of alcohols and water, requires high boiling point and flash point, specific

heat and conduction capacity, low temperature viscosity, not easy to foam,

non-corrosive to metal parts and rubber hose. When select or deploy

antifreeze, the freezing point should be 5° lower than the lowest

environment temperature. At present the water inside S&A water chiller

cannot be discharged completely, so antifreeze should be used when

working(the ratio to water is 3:7).The professional antifreeze we choose:

CLARIANT brand(model:Antifrogen N). Antifreeze can be recycled, keep no

other debris mixed.

Note: Antifreeze cannot completely replace deionized water, thus cannot

use for a long time throughout the year, and sifferent brands of antifreeze

cannot be mixed. The pipeline must be cleaned with deionized water or pure

water after winter, and restore the use of deionized water or purified water

as coolant.
