Introduction

• Trigonometric identities are equations involving

trigonometric ratios that are true for all values of
the angles involved.

• They simplify complex trigonometric expressions

and are widely used in mathematics.
Fundamental Identities

• sin²θ + cos²θ = 1
• 1 + tan²θ = sec²θ
• 1 + cot²θ = cosec²θ
Sum and Difference Formulae

• sin(A ± B) = sinAcosB ± cosAsinB

• cos(A ± B) = cosAcosB ∓ sinAsinB
• tan(A ± B) = (tanA ± tanB) / (1 ∓ tanA·tanB)
Double and Half Angle Identities

• sin2A = 2sinAcosA
• cos2A = cos²A - sin²A
= 2cos²A - 1
= 1 - 2sin²A
• tan2A = 2tanA / (1 - tan²A)
• sin²(A/2) = (1 - cosA)/2
• cos²(A/2) = (1 + cosA)/2
