Consolidated Pay Rs.40,000/- per month. In addition to the salary, various facilities may be provided such

Educational Qualification Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field like Social Work, Sociology, or
Education
Master’s Degree in Psychology or Counseling Psychology
Additional Educational Qualification: Candidates may indicate if they possess Post-
Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counseling.
Other Requirements At least 1 year of active counselling experience covering adolescents and young
adults, preferably at college level.
Candidate may share details if he/she holds a Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)
License.
Age Limit 30 years
Duration of Appointment 1 year, extendable upon satisfactory performance at the sole discretion of IIT
Gandhinagar
Job Description Candidates should possess strong communication skills, be able to analyze the
institutional needs and formulate effective strategies for addressing the same, and be
sensitive to the diversity of backgrounds at the institute. The candidate would provide
one-on-one counselling support to all students as required and be available to staff,
faculty and residents of llT Gandhinagar. He/She would be the point of contact for
students in need of interpersonal/emotional counselling. He/she must be comfortable
working with students from a variety of social and economic backgrounds. He/she may
also be required to work during evenings or /and weekends. The Counseling
Psychologist will maintain confidentiality but report to Faculty-in-charge, Counselling
Services or Dean, Student Affairs of any extreme cases that demand Institution/family
intervention. The Counseling Psychologist may conduct workshops, talks and group
discussions from time to time to help participants with their interpersonal and emotional
needs. He/She may also carry out other relevant duties assigned by the Institute.
