Preface to the Revised Edition

As soon as this series was published in 1999, many schools in Saudi Arabia adopted it as
a textbook. Other schools and Islamic organizations all over the Muslim world
appreciated these books and included them in their curricula, Many enthusiastic
teachers and earnest preachers suggested that I enhance some of the lessons providing
exercises Which were not included in the previous edition.
In this edition special care has been taken to improve the previous syllabus, adding
many new lessons, especially on ‘agidah, akhlag and other topics relevant to day-to-day
Muslim life, Without realization of the true ‘aqidah and its implementation in practical
life through good morals and proper behavior, a Muslim believer cannot attain
perfection. Islam is the manifestation of good behavior and dealings.
This edition is totally revised and enlarged. Many relevant stories, parables and facts
from Islamic history have been incorporated in the lessons. Readers will hopefully find it
informative, organized, systematic and useful.
The current edition comprises ten graded books. Particular attention has been given to
books 7 and 8, as many schools do not teach Islamic studies after 8 grade.
Suitable Islamic pictures have been added to attract the young students of primary levels.
Islamic rhymes are included to keep children engaged in the classroom,

When [was a teacher of Islamic Studies at Manarat International School, Jeddah, in

students, When [met Dr. Muhammad Abdu Yamani, Ex-Information Minister of the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and current President of lara’ Charitable Society, he offered
me the opportunity to write the Islamic Education Series.
Islamic Education Series comprises eight graded books for teaching Muslim students at
different levels of primary and secondary education.
The purpose of these books is to provide Muslin students with basic knowledge of
Islam. They have been prepared with the aim of helping the students grasp the main
beliefs, fundamental duties and facts of Islamic history and culture
The books emphasize Tawhid (Onenes ‘of Allah), the most fundamental aspect of Islam,
