Scope of Computer Science & Engineering The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in 1994 to bring

in Global Excellence and Local Relevance in research, teaching, and technological development and at present offers the following four years undergraduate and three years Master Degree Courses:

B.Tech. degree in Computer Sc. & Engineering B.Tech. degree in Information Technology and Masters Degree in Computer Application (MCA)

Last decade has witnessed high quality technocrats, engineers, experts and academicians being produced by this august department, who currently are rendering their expertise in upscaling the Hardware & Software industry, engaged in R&D organizations and teaching in academic Institutions not only within the country but also abroad. Plan to offer M.Tech. Programme in Computer Sc. & Engineering is underway and will be shortly introduced. The department is accredited since 2006 with the extension of U.G.C. conferred academic autonomy, the syllabi of the Department are updated and designed with many advanced courses to enable students to keep themselves abreast with knowledge and technological development across the globe. The department endeavours to give a cutting edge in all the courses for the students to achieve excellence and expertise for exposure in computer technology in days to come. The teaching in the Department emphasizes on fundamental principles, development of creative thinking and need based analytical ability to solve real life problems. The Department also encourages its students to engage in extra-curricular and cocurricular activities, personality development, developing team spirit and developing organizational skills. The Faculty members of the Department are involved in diversified advanced research areas like:

Parallel Processing Algorithm Engineering and Foundation of Computing Networking Data Mining & Soft Computing Software Engineering Image Processing

Most of the Faculty members have received advanced degrees and/or training from Reputed Institutions in India. Alumni Members of the Department hold prestigious positions in leading Software and Hardware companies like Microsoft, IBM, Yahoo, Oracle, Wipro, Infosys, Satyam, TCS, Motorola, Intel, HCL, Samsung, CTS etc in various Countries all over the world. Many have been employed in reputed Public sector undertaking and academic institutions in India. Many are frontline entrepreneurs in computer and IT industry. The Department has adequate infrastructure including new laboratories namely Windows NT laboratory, UNIX, Computer Hardware, Linux, and PC Lab (windows). The total student intake strength is 90 per year (B.Tech). The Teaching faculties and students of the Dept. have been honoured at National and International research societies. The Dept. has a Library with good number of books, journals, and magazines to help students upgrade their outlook in various areas of Computer Science &

Engineering applications. The Department organizes National Technical Seminars and Exhibitions, Industry-Institute Interaction Programme every year.
