What is DPOF?
DPOF stands for Digital Print Order Format. With DPOF, a user can select from all of the photos stored on the camera,
just those photos he or she wants to print. Then those files are loaded onto a memory card, and the card is inserted
into the printer. There is no need to use a computer to separate the photos.
When printing DPOF files, make sure that the AUTPRINT.MRK file is in the memory card's
MISC folder.
The printer supports only DPOF version 1.0.

2.6. USB Full Speed Host
The USB host controlling and managing the USB bus is referred to as a host controller. This host
controller is implemented in a combination of hardware and software. The USB host interacts with USB
devices through the host controller.
The host is responsible for the following:
• Detecting the attachment and removal of USB devices
• Managing control flow between the host and USB devices
• Managing data flow between host and USB devices
• Collecting status and activity statistics
• Providing power to attached USB devices
The USB system software on the host manages interactions between USB devices and host-based
device software. There are five areas of interactions between the USB system software and device
software:
• Device enumeration and configuration
• Isochronous data transfers
• Asynchronous data transfers
• Power management
• Device and bus management information

3. Reset Circuit
This system is composed of power on reset (nRESET) and reset by watch dog timer. .
Power on reset is used for reset to main controller and flash memory when power is applied to
the system . The below figure is the block diagram related to power on reset .
XC61FN3112MR
Voltage Detector
nRESET ZR-4100
MAIN CONTROLLER
FLASH
MEMORY
The voltage detector IC checks the VCC (3.3V) Voltage if VCC reaches to 3.1V.
If so , nRESET signal keeps low for 50ms~200ms and then changes to high (+3.3V).
The Main Controller performs a initial operation by this nRESET signal .
The voltage detector IC XC61FN3112MR monitors the vcc voltage and applys the nRESET signal to
Main Controller and Flash Memory .
The output of XC61FN3112MR is open drain structure so 1KΩ PULL UP is needed .
To prevent the system from stalling , the 4100 architecture has a build-in watch-dog counter for system
bus and memory card accesses. When counter expires during and external access , the access is
terminated and an error is signaled.
This system uses 2 stepper motors and sensors to control engine. One is for feeding the paper
and the other is for up/down TPH . There are two sensors with Engine. First, paper sensor detects
paper exit. Second, ribbon sensor detects the edge of each color ribbon during feeding and is
used to determine loading length .
Overall block of engine control is showed in Figure 4-1.

This system uses USB host for direct printing from digital camera and USB Device 2.0 for PC printing .
These function is embedded in ZR-4100 Main Controller ASIC.
- Poly Switch is used for implementing over-current protection for safety reasons.
- USB uses pull-up or pull down resistors to determine when an attach or detach event has taken
place on the USB bus and the speed capacity of the attached peripheral.
The USB host requires an external 15k Ohm pull-down resistor on DPLUS and
DMINUS.
When a USB target is connected to the host controller, the RPU in the Target will cause the
DPLUS (or DMINUS for a low speed device) signal to go high and the ATTACH interrupt will be
activated.

6.2. USB High Speed Device
ZR-4100 has a register which enables a pull up , therfore don't need external pull up registers.
USB20USBCMD Register bit 0
Writing a one to this bit will cause the device controller to enable a pull-up on D+ and initiate
an attach event. This control bit is not directly connected to the pull-up enable, as the pull-up
will become disabled upon transitioning into high-speed mode.
Software should use this bit to prevent an attach event before the device controller has been
properly initialized. Writing a 0 to this will cause a detach event.
