Dr. Aditya Goel Head of Department Electronics and Communication Engineering e-mail: dityagoel2@redi mail.com
Its my pleasure to write about the graduating students of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department at MANIT Bhopal. This department has established itself as one of the best in the country since last three decades. In the last several years, the department at MANIT Bhopal has been able to make its presence felt in the industry and academic spheres in the country as well as abroad. The visible presence of our alumni in various highly reputed industries and academic institutions bears testimony to this fact.
The department o ers B.Tech. (Electronics and Communication Engineering), M.Tech. (three streams, viz. Digital Communication, Microwave and Millimetre and VLSI) and PhD programmes. In addition the faculty members of the Department are actively engaged in sponsored projects and industrial consultancy. Electronics and Communication Engineering Department at MANIT Bhopal admits students who are among the best in the country. These bright minds are trained in the state of the art experimental as well as computing facilities as a part of the most up to date academic curriculum taught by well quali ed faculty members. The students are also exposed to the reallife industrial problems in the form of summer internship (in industries/laboratories in India and abroad) and collaborative project works with industries as a part of their curriculum. I am glad to present the current batch of graduating students to the potential employers and I sincerely welcome all of them. Our past recruiters are aware of the list of our alumni who have proven their worth by excelling in their profession. I am sure all the employers will also nd this batch of graduating students sincere and competent and the students will spare no e ort to make us proud of them.
ported by specialized and well versed faculties who have been involved in various research projects like Image Processing & its application GIS & Remote Sensing, Broadband high speed light wave communication.
BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY
Admission into B.Tech. programme is through the highly competitive All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). The B.Tech programme imparts comprehensive education in various elds of electronics and communication engineering. Curriculum starts with fundamental courses in basic sciences and mathematics followed by core engineering courses and specialized elective courses. The total strength of the current nal year B.Tech. students is 135.
COURSE CURRICULUM
The department has one of the most well balanced course curriculums with the right amount of stress on theoretical as well as practical aspects of electronics and communication engineering. Periodic review of the course structure is carried out to meet the latest demands of both industries and academics. INTERNSHIP As a part of the curriculum, after the sixth semester, the students are required to do a four to eight-week summer internship in industries/research labs outside their parentinstitute. They also gain research experience through the B.Tech. Project during the nal year. Some of the places where the current batch of students did their training are:
DRDO ISRO, BSNL, Airport Authority of India, C-DOT, BEL, ECIL, Samsung, Reliance, Nokia Siemens, Ericsson, RRCAT Indore, Nepal Telecom Limited BHEL All India Radio Moserbaer, Honeywell, IBM, University of Bremen, German Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, IIIT, Hyderabad IIT, Bombay IIT, Delhi IIT, Indore IIT, Guwahati
