JOB TITLE OVERALL PURPOSE Discovery Interpretation Officer To manage, develop, promote, deliver, coordinate and evaluate a range of interpretation material in a variety of media with a view to engaging with a wide range of audiences (especially the general public, both local and visiting) so as to improve their understanding and enjoyment of the National Park its principles and purposes To contribute to the development of the Authoritys interpretation strategies, plans and policies. Main Responsibilities
Strategies - to contribute towards the development of the Authoritys Interpretation Plans and Policies Planning - to develop a range of interpretation material towards the delivery of the interpretation plans

to explore promote and develop relationships with partners (n.b. external funders, communities and centres) to inform, advise and coordinate an understanding of the National Park, its principles, policies and purposes, for all exhibition and display material across the Authority
Delivery - to research, draft and develop interpretation material in line with the agreed plans and budgets and to pursue funding opportunities. - to manage commissions (including preparing briefs, tendering, appointing and monitoring external consultants) towards the research and production of interpretation material. - coordinate and deliver the interpretation training of others including communities and volunteers. Monitoring - reviewing and reporting against agreed objectives, monitoring income and expenditure, capturing learning and developing future plans and delivery accordingly, in a quest for continuous improvement. Any other duties as reasonably required.
