CHild Labour
CHild Labour
The most innocent phase in human life is the childhood . That stage - when the human foundations are laid for a
successful adult life. The phase when we are carefree, fun loving, learning, playing. Go back in your childhood & for us there are beautiful memories. How wonderful - grown up with such carefree abandonment while we had parents and grandparents looking for us. But this is not the story of too many children as some of them forcefully have to work in their childhood as a child labour.
CHILD LABOUR
Child labour refers to the
employment of children at regular and sustained labour or.. It may be defined as the full time employment of children who are under a minimum legal age.
The minimum age depends on the country and the type of work involved which varies from 14 to 16 except for the agricultural industry where children as young as 12 years can work. In many developed countries, it is considered inappropriate if a child below a certain age works.
HISTORY
During the industrial
revolution, children as young as 4 were employed in production factories with dangerous, and often fatal, working conditions. The use of children as labourers is now considered by wealthy countries to be a human rights violation, while some poorer countries may allow or tolerate child labour.
The Victorian era became notorious for employing young children in factories in mines and in chimney sweeps. Child labour played an important role in the Industrial Revolution from its outset, often brought about by economic hardship.. Charles Dickens for eg worked at the age of 12 in a blacking factory, with his family in debtors prison.
