History Of IT In Bangladesh
Bangladesh has a relatively long experience in the use of
computers - the first "second generation" computer was installed
in 1964 at Dhaka and very soon some of the large banks and
industrial concerns started using computers, mainly for
accounting and payroll applications. The utility companies also
started using the bureau facilities of these installations for their
customer billing. Unfortunately, the financial crisis that the
country faced immediately after its independence in 1971 did not
permit the sustenance of this early lead and lack of maintenance
forced the closure of most of these installations. But A large
number of Bangladeshis are now working in the IT field in
different companies and business organization has started to use
IT in every sphere of organization.

The Role of IT in Business
Development
In today's ever-evolving business landscape, information technology (IT) has become
as integral to a business development plan as marketing, research and development
and product distribution. Businesses use IT for both internal and external
applications, and better IT improves productivity and business management. Failure
to invest in IT strategies at the outset significantly diminishes a business'
competitiveness as more and more companies recognize the necessity of integrated IT.
An IT business development manager helps the company for which he works to
expand by increasing business opportunities for the organization. He also comes up
with strategies that will enhance the smooth running of the organization, product
development and product distribution. He deals with the sale and supply of computer
hardware and software, telecommunications equipment and services. The IT business
development manager also deals with the outsourcing and delivery of products to
clients. He informs and presents clients with any service offerings that the
organization provides.
Instructions to Integrate IT into
Development Plans of Business
Update IT systems as necessary to meet or exceed industry standards. How effectively
your company shares information internally, meets external expectations and analyzes
productivity and profitability will determine its position within the industry in
comparison to competing companies, as well as its potential for growth.
Comply with government regulations. Do appropriate research into state and federal
regulations that govern information and information services. Ensure that your IT
systems are designed to meet those regulations.
Invest in IT infrastructure as the foundation of your IT business strategies. IT
infrastructure includes security, messaging services, and accessibility, backup and
recovery and maintenance strategies. IT infrastructure is a key element in supporting
day-to-day business operations.
Incorporate strategic business drivers into IT systems. Strategic business drivers allow
managers to gain insight into productivity issues and other business sectors in order to
obtain a competitive advantage and optimize profitability.

Negative Impact of Information
Technology in Business
Compared to conventional tools, there is cost of these technologies;
some amount of money has to be paid.
Although they are good in storing information, this information
may lose in event of some physical damages, fire or viruses.
By using these technologies, the number of employees may
decrease because these technologies will do those employees work.
People relationship in person may decrease.
Mostly by using IT and its devices, the privacy of the people are
limited. Therefore one business may be under control and
monitored by these technologies.
