following results.
The students suggested following improvements in library.
 Books

Most students were with the complain that the books

available are of old edition and they require new editions
 Online library

Students feel this should improve as there their speed is not

up to mark.
 Infrastructure

Students feel that ventilation should improve. They want

large space and AC’s in library.
Most of the students suggested following ranking.
1st : Director
2nd : Library staff
3rd : Supporting & cleaning staff
4th : Students supporting bodies
5th : Faculty
6th : P.A.
7th : Office staff: students section
8th : Office staff: accounts section
9th : Office staff: computer section
1st : Placement committee
2nd : Guest lecture committee
3rd : Alumni committee
4th : Subject clubs
5th : SMA
6th : Others
Students feel that following are the aspects that make
SIMSREE a better place.

 Being a student driven institute

Majority of students feel that assigning responsibilities and
work to them and giving them freedom to fulfill those
responsibilities in their own way gives them a platform to
explore their managerial skills. This improves their ability to
work under constraints.

 Co-operative director
Students feel that their director is supportive and guides
them effectively.
 Administration
They feel that the administration is helpful, democratic, goal
oriented and is focused towards improvement of ranking.

 Library
Most students feel that the usage of library helps them
efficiently in their studies.

 Culture
Students are pleased with culture followed in SIMSREE.
They feel that their fellows and seniors are helpful in nature
and it feels good to work with them.
Students feel following aspects as obstacles in making
SIMSREE a well managed institute.

 Permanent Faculty
Majority of students feel that the in-house faculty is not up to
the mark, they are less in number, not involved in institute
improvement, not easily approachable for students.

 Infrastructure
Many students are not happy with the infrastructure. They
need lift facility as the institute is situated on third floor, they
demand much better class room facilities.
 Schedules
Many students are not satisfied with tight lecture timings and
wants it to be more flexible.

 Library & computer lab

They feel that the library & computer lab facilities should be
their for longer hours, presently it is 8a.m. to 8p.m.

 Cafeteria
Students feel the need of improvement of canteen facilities
and quality of food served.

 Hostel facilities
Many students are from outside and are facing the problem
of accommodation as the hostel capacity is less.
During our study, we came to know about the following
problems faced by the institute in recent times.

Loafing by employees
Some employees are inactive and do not work, as
SIMSREE is a government institute, salary comes in their
hands for free, thus the burden comes on dedicated and
loyal employees.
Our suggestion
Close monitoring of employees should be done by higher
authorities and work should be assigned to them regularly to
improve their skills and stamina.
 SIMSREE is a government institution but it appears and
functions like the corporate office.
 SIMSREE management follows Theory Y laid down by
Douglas McGregor. Functioning of SIMSREE involves a lot
of students involvement through their different committees.
 Facilities provided are good but still needs improvement in
some areas like library, cafeteria etc.
 It appears that students are dedicated and concerned about
their issues.
 Students are not restricted to curriculum studies but they are
found eager to acquire knowledge of the field by all means.
