where Bernadette
was born and
raised.
 St. Bernadette was born into a family of poverty
 While very young, she contracted cholera and suffered
extreme asthma

 She lived in poor health her entire life, unfortunately


 She did have many apparitions of Mary while she was
collecting wood at a grotto and when she was asked to return,
though she did not know that it was Mary

Interesting Facts  St Bernadette was told to make a stream to replace the mud
around the grotto for the sick and she did
(Pt 1)  It is true that over a course of years, the water that replaced the
mud, cured over 69 people

 She was not believed and was questioned by French officials,


and they later confirmed what she was saying was true

 Bernadette asked the apparition who she was, and she


responded, "I, am the Immaculate Conception"

 Bernadette was always very humble and did not want attention
for her visions or her miracles
 Bernadette to remove herself from the public eye,
joined a nunnery where she spent the rest of her life
 Due to unfortunate circumstances she was diagnosed
with tuberculosis at the age of 35

 She left a lasting impact on Lourdes and the world by


her visons

during her time marked the beginning of the Civil War in America

associated with St.
Berndette.
