• This essay is being marked through impression.
• Therefore, you need to impress the examiner with your story and it
• also need to be flawless.
• There are 5 types of essay:
• 1)Narrative
• 2)Descriptive
• 3)Reflective
• 4) Expository
• 5) Argumentative

• WHY these essays are the ones easiest for you to write and score?
• A story is not as boring as an article
• If, you don’t have any ideas, you can use ideas from novels,
• magazines or sample essays that you read or from movies, drama or
• advertisement you watch or from songs that you listen to.
• Usually, there would be at least 3 questions that are for these types of essay.

SECTION A (15 MARKS)
• LITERATURE
• 1)Poem
• a) You must study your poem. If you don’t it would be difficult.
• b) Read the question.
• c) Answer it using correct word and grammar because if it is wrong
• grammatically, marks will not be awarded.
• d) Do not quote the lines from the poem unless the question asked
• you to identify “which line that shows.....”
• 2)Short Story / Novel
• a) You must remember the storyline and the characteristic of all the
• characters.
• b) Read the abstract given because most answer would be from the
• text.
• c) When you lift your answer, do not include parts that are not
• relevant.
• d) When it asks for opinion, answer with Yes or No first, then give your
