Torque Limitation Clearing Strategy

1) BSIV emission norms in India limit carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, particulate matter, and nitrous oxides from vehicles. If emissions are not properly controlled, the ECU will activate the MIL and automatically limit torque output to 40%. 2) The ECU can generate a MIL with or without error codes to indicate problems with the MAP sensor, injectors, coolant temperature sensor, or barometric pressure sensor that could impact emissions. 3) To rectify a torque limitation complaint, technicians should use diagnostics to find and fix the error, clear any pending codes, and remove the torque limitation and error strategy.

 If any BSIV vehicle not meeting BSIV emission norms due to emission related errors in the

system then ECU will generate MIL as well as immediately de-rate the vehicle
