CONVENTIONAL BRAKING SYSTEM-
WORKING-
On the application of Pascal law fluid pressure is exerted in all direction
Because the cylinders near the brakes are much wider than the one near the
brake pedal, the force you originally applied is multiplied greatly, clamping
the brakes hard to the wheels.
Excessive heat energy is emitted
wasting up to 30% of
car's generated power.
REGENERATIVE BRAKING
SYSTEM-- AN ALTERNATIVE
The kinetic energy of the vehicle to some extent that is lost during
braking.
The main objective is to increase the overall efficiency and performance
of the vehicle.
This generated electricity is fed into a chemical storage battery and used
later to power the car at startup.
It improved the fuel consumption by 33%.

ADVANTAGES OF REGENERATIVE
BRAKING SYSTEM-
Increase of overall energy efficiency of a vehicle.
Improved Performance.
Energy saving potential
Reduction in Engine Wear.
Cuts down on pollution.
Increases the lifespan
of friction braking systems.
DISADVANTAGES OF REGENERATIVE
BRAKING SYSTEM
Added Weight-Extra components can increase weight.
Complexity-depends on control necessary for operation of
regenerative braking system.
Cost of components, engineering, manufacturing and installation
is high.
The regenerative braking effect drops off at lower speeds; therefore the
friction brake is still required in order to bring the vehicle to a
complete halt
Safety-Primary concern with any energy storage unit of high
energy density.
Added maintenance requirements dependent on the complexity of
design.
FUTURE SCOPE-
Regenerative braking cannot be implemented in
bikes because-
Less amount of power..
Increase of weight.
Increase in price
More forces developed .
CONCLUSION-
Regenerative braking is an effective method of improving vehicle
efficiency and longevity
Results from some of the test conducted
show that around 30% of the energy
delivered can be recovered by the system.
Optimal usage of regenerative
braking provides a good and an
ideal source of green energy.
