What Are The Assumptions of Art?

The document discusses the assumptions of art. It outlines three main assumptions: 1. Art is universal - it spans generations and continents. Age does not determine if something is art. Works are still enjoyed regardless of origin or time. 2. Art is not nature - it is man's expression and interpretation of nature. Art is made by man whereas nature is given. Art is also a perception of reality rather than a representation of it. 3. Art involves experience. It provides an experience rather than full details. Creating and experiencing art involves the actual doing and experience of it.
