Position Paper

Here is a summary of the key counterclaims against implementing a no private transport policy for two days a week along major highways in Metro Manila: - It will greatly inconvenience private vehicle owners and commuters who rely on private transport for work and other daily needs. Public transportation is inadequate to accommodate increased ridership on those days. - It may negatively impact the economy as traffic disruptions can delay deliveries and reduce productivity. Business activities located along major highways may be affected. - Enforcement will be challenging given the large number of private vehicles that use major highways daily. Non-compliance can defeat the purpose of reducing traffic and emissions.
