Testing Speaking

A speaking test is used to assess a person's speaking skills by having them speak and then evaluating their speech. Speaking tests can be used alone or with other skill tests, and speaking skills can be evaluated through self-assessment, classroom assessments, performance assessments, read alouds, conversations, describing pictures, interviews, role plays, and more. However, speaking tests face issues with practicality, cost, administration time, scoring, and reliability due to difficulty standardizing evaluations across examiners.

Administration

examiner is put under great
pressure.
Reliability

is the selection of criteria for
evaluating performance.
