Balancer
If the laundry is slanted in one direction, the unbalance detection function is activated to
prevent spinning noise and vibrations by distributing the laundry evenly before starting the spin cycle.

DOOR-LOCK Switch
The door is designed so that it does not open while operating.
Even when paused or when the wash cycle is finished, the door has been designed to only open when the
water level is equal to or higher than the water overflow level, and the temperature inside the wash tub
is equal to or less than 65℃ for the Drying cycle, or 55℃ for the wash cycle.

Over-Water Supply Prevention Device (SENSOR-PRESSURE)

If water is supplied up to two thirds of the door level because the Water Supply Valve is out of order,
the water is automatically drained and an OVER-FLOW ERROR(oF) is displayed.

Temperature Controller (Thermistor)

The thermistor monitors the water temperature continuously so that the Wash and Dry cycles can
be performed at the selected temperature.

Overheating Protector
If the Washing Heater overheats due to a Thermistor defect or an abnormal condition,
the Assy-thermal Fuse (in the Washing Heater) cuts power to protect the product and
to prevent injury.

Delicate Clothing Protection Function (Assy-Main PCB)

This function detects the internal wash tub temperature and, if it is equal to or higher than
50℃, drains the water and display a water temperature error (E8) during the Wool and
Lingerie courses in order to protect susceptible clothing.

Overheating Prevention Device (Thermostat)

If the Washing Heater overheats due to a Thermistor defect or an abnormal condition, the Thermostat (attached to
the Dry Duct) cuts power to protect the product and to prevent injury.

Child Lock (Button Lock Function)

This function is for preventing children from operating the washer.

Silver-Nano Washing
Silver ion water is supplied during the wash for sterilizing the laundry.
Silver ion water is also supplied for the last rinse cycle so that clothes are coated with silver
in order to prevent germ penetration.

Pre-Washing Function
Pre-washing means a preliminary wash that is performed for 10 minutes before the main wash.
Pre-washing is effective for highly soiled laundry.

Weight Detection Function

This function turns the wash tub before supplying water and detects the laundry weight to.
determine the wash time (for the Standard, Boil, Economy Boil, Dirty, Towel, and Dry courses.)

Bubble Detection Function

This function drains bubbles to prevent potential problems arising when excessive bubbles
are generated by an excessive amount of detergent.

Air-Wash Function
Use this function when removing odors.
The mode is selected in the following order: Knit->Overcoat->Bedding->Tick Removal.

Ball Balancer
A balancer that significantly reduces vibrations. Since it uses steel balls inside, it is called
A Ball Balancer. If an unbalanced state is detected, it move the balls to the opposite side
to offset the unbalanced state that caused the vibrations.

Circulation Pump
A Circulation Pump is an additional pump besides the Drain Pump. The Circulation Pump lifts the
water at the bottom of the tub and circulates the water through the laundry to improve
the washing capability.

Q1. Pressing the button during an operation does not work.

Check if the "Child Protection“ function is selected.
Child Protection Function: Press the [Temp] and the [Rinse] buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to activate
or deactivate this function.

Q2. The spin time for the Dry course is set to 17 minutes. Can I change the spin time?
The spin time has been extended for faster drying. You cannot change the spin time for the Dry course.

Q3. The temperature is not displayed during the rinse step of the Boil Washing course.
Since the Boil function is only applied for the wash course, the wash temperature will not be displayed during the rinse
step.

Q4. Since the rinse time seems to be too short and the amount of water seems to be too little, I feel that the
rinse time is insufficient.
A drum washer can remove any remaining detergent and soapy water at twice the rinse capability and at less water
than a normal washer, through its dropping and spinning capabilities. In addition, this drum washer ensures a
cleaner wash without damaging clothing by performing at least 3 rinse cycles by default.

Q5. Do I have to release the laundry to prevent the laundry from being entangled?
Since this drum washer uses the dropping effect, even if you roll up and place the laundry into the washer, each laundry
item will be completely separated and will not become entangled. Using this washer will confirm its performance.

Q6. I have added detergent according to the specifications in the manual, but little bubbles are generated. Is this
normal?
Although only detergent for drum washers should be used, because a drum washer may malfunction or experience
degradation of the wash capability if excessive bubbles are created, we recommended the same amount of detergent
As for normal washers (non-drum type washers) because purchasing imported detergent for drum washers is not always
easy for some customers depending on the region they live in. For effective washing, add the appropriate amount of
detergent into the washer and do not use more than one detergent spoon (supplied with the product).

Reference – 4. Frequently Asked Questions (2)

Q7. A sound of falling water is heard from inside the washer while the Dry is operating.
This sound is generated when water vapor, which is generated by Dry operation, is drained with supplied cold water. This
is normal for the Dry function.

Q8. The transparent glass is too hot during the Boil or Dry course. Is this OK?
Since there is a possible danger due to the high temperature inside the washer when performing the Boil or Dry course,
Samsung is using tempered glass for the internal transparent window and tempered plastics for the external transparent
window, increasing overall safety. Therefore, even if the internal temperature is transferred, it is safe. Therefore, you can
use this product with a sense of security.
Samsung’s drum washer is safer then other manufacturer's drum washers as a dual structure door consisting of tempered
glass and plastics has been used for safety purposes.

Q9. Can I use Dry Cleaning detergent for a Dry Cleaning effect when I use the Dry course?
Since the Drying operation dries laundry at a high temperature over a long period, and there is a danger of cloth and
product damage, please do not use additional detergent for the Dry course.

Q10. The "hot" message appears.

This message appears notifying you of the danger of high temperature when opening the washer door or performing
another operation when the inside of the washer is hot especially when the washer is performing the Boil or Dry operation.
Retry after the internal temperature has cooled down.

Q11. When I press the Power button, only ‘---’ is displayed. What should I do?
* Press the [Start/Pause] button. The wash will continue in the Standard course.
* Turn the Course dial to select a wash course (Standard~Tub Cleaning).
* If you press the Wash, Rinse, or Spin button, you can set up each step of the Standard course.
Reference
Reference – 4. Frequently Asked Questions (3)

Q12. The time disappears and then a different time reappears in the last spin step while operating from
the Washing to the Dry step. Is this normal?
The washer measures the laundry weight before drying it after washing and spinning and then recalculates
the Drying time. While performing this, the time is not displayed. After that new time is displayed.
This is a normal operation and provides a more accurate time by measuring the weight of the laundry to be dried.

Q13. Only the right side of the washer is very hot during the Drying course. Is this normal?
Since the Dry Heater is located at the right side of the product, heat may be transferred during the Drying operation.
However, there is no safety concern.

Q14. I have selected Low-Temperature Dry, but the laundry is not dry when the Drying time has elapsed.
Please use this function when drying laundry that may become shrunk or deformed. If you add more than 4kgs of laundry,
it will not be dry even after the time has elapsed. Therefore, do not add a lot of laundry at the same time.

Q15. How can I use the Add Laundry function?

1) If the Add Laundry button is on when the door is locked, you can add laundry.
At this time, press the Add Laundry button.
- If the washer is in operation, it is automatically stopped.
- If the door is locked and the lamp is turned off, adding laundry is not possible.
2) If the Add Laundry lamp blinks, please wait for a moment while the washer is draining water until
the water level reaches the safe water level or stops the wash tub.
3) When the Add Laundry lamp is turned off, open the door and add the laundry.
4) Close the door and press the Start/Pause button.
- The door is locked and the selected cycle or operation being performed continues.
Reference
Reference – 4. Frequently Asked Questions (4)

Q16. I want to perform a Drying cycle only but the washer performs a Spin cycle.
If there is water inside the washer, or the laundry is too wet, the washer performs a spin cycle first and
then performs a Dry cycle for faster results.

Q17. I want to perform a Drying cycle only. Do I need to connect the cold water faucet?
Although you can start without connecting the cold water faucet, if a disconnection of the cold water hose is detected,
an error will occur and washing will stop. Please connect the cold water hose in any case.

Q18. What is the difference between anti-bacteria and sterilization?

Sterilization creates an aseptic environment in the initial step, while anti-bacteria checks if any germs are still alive
18 hours after putting them into the aseptic environment.
That is, sterilization kills germs, while anti-bacteria prevents germs from living. ?!?!!?!

Q19. How long does the anti-bacteria effect continue?

It continues for about 3 months.

Q20. How long is the lifetime of the silver plate?

It can be used for longer than 10 years if 4 times of washing is done a week.

Q21. Is the silver ion water hazardous?

It is not hazardous. It is being widely used for tableware, jewelry. However, please do not drink it.

Q22. Is there any chance for the silver to discolor the laundry?
Although this may occur when the silver density is very high, the density in the washer is much lower.
Discoloration will not occur even if you dry or boil laundry with silver ion water.
Reference
Reference – 4. Frequently Asked Questions (5)

Q23. The water in the washer appears the same as normal water. Has the silver melted into the water?
Since silver exists in an ion state, you cannot distinguish it under general conditions.

Q24. How many rinse cycles are set for each course?
*Although the number of rinse cycles is pre-determined for each course, you can set up to 5 cycles for each course
except for the Tub Cleaning course. (However, you can set up to 3 cycles for the Wool course.)
*Default Number of Rinse cycles - Standard, Boil, Economy Boil, Dirty, Bedding, Towel, Wool, Lingerie: Rinse 3 Time
- Express, Tub Cleaning : Rinse 2 Times

Q25. What is the purpose of the Towel course?

Since the surface of a towel is made up of loops of thread, if washed with other laundry, the loops are cut and the
surface becomes coarse and stiff. Therefore, to keep towels in good condition over a long time, washing towels only is
recommended.

Q26. I want to use only one of the following Washing, Rinse and Spin courses. How can I do this?
* Standard Course: Press the Power button and then press the button for the individual function you want. Alternatively,
select a course and then press and hold the individual function button for 3 seconds so as to leave the necessary
function and
remove the others.
*Other Course: Select a course and then press and hold the individual function button for 3 seconds so as to leave the
necessary function and
remove the others.

Q27. Water leaks from the cold and hot water connection parts. What should I do?
Check if the faucet and the adapter are properly connected.
This may happen when the connection is not properly made during the initial installation. In this case, turn the
faucet off and reconnect the cold and hot water supply hoses to the adapter. At this time, take care not to
connect the cold and hot water hoses in the wrong positions.
