INTRODUCTION
Distributed generation
Distributed generation (DG) technologies
can provide energy solutions to some customers
that are more cost-effective, more
environmentally friendly, or provide higher
power quality or reliability than conventional
solutions.

OVERVIEW OF WIND ENERGY
2
HISTORY OF WIND TURBINE
The first use of large windmill in Cleveland, Ohio, 1888 to generate electricity. Rotor
diameter was 17 meters. The windmill produced 75KW

8
APPLICATION
Wind turbines are packaged systems that
include the rotor, generator, turbine blades,
and drive or coupling device.

THE BEST LOCATION
The best places for wind farms are
in coastal areas, at the tops of rounded
hills, open plains and gaps in mountains
- places where the wind is strong and
reliable.

OVERVIEW OF SOLAR ENERGY
14
HISTORY
In 1839 Alexandre Edmond Becquerel
discovered the photovoltaic.
In 1883, New York inventor created the first
coating selenium solar cell with a thin layer of
gold.
In 1950, Bell Laboratories uses semiconducting
materials(silicon) to create solar cell.
In 1974 federal government committed to make
solar viable and affordable and market it to the
public
