• SIMPLIFICATION AND EVALUATION OF APPLICABILITY
THRESHOLDS
• CULTURAL SKILLS AND APPLICATION OF FOREIGN STANDARDS
NEW ENGINEERING PROFILES
NEW PROFILES

• MATERIAL BASED STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING
FORENSIC ENGINEERING
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Forensic Engineering need outstanding skills in materials and structural
damage processes from micro to macro scale as well as in analytical sciences
and non-destructive testing.

MINERALS ENGINEERING
• Applies science and technology to the extraction of minerals from the earth
• require good education in chemistry, mineralogy, and process technology.
SUPPLEMENTARY CEMENTITIOUS MATERIALS (SCMS)
TWO CATEGORIES OF CEMENTING MATERIALS:
• HYDRAULIC
• POZZOLANIC
Natural Pozzolana (Volcanic Ash) - an inorganic materials with
no inherent binding abilities. However, they harden when
mixed with water and calcium hydroxide, or with materials that
release calcium hydroxide.
Fly Ash – a siliceous material that reacts with calcium
hydroxide to form a cement. Fly ash improves concrete’s
workability, pumpability, cohesiveness, finish, ultimate
strength, and durability as well as solves many problems
experienced with concrete today and all for less cost.
Calcined Clay - is a low-carbon cement
SUSTAINABLE AESTHETIC
ENGINEERING
• Focused on structures that are independent in terms
of materials and the particular aesthetics design
MATERIAL-BASED STRUCTURAL
ENGINEERING
• applied physical laws and empirical knowledge of the
structural performance of different materials and
geometries
