 Heredity:
Physical stature, facial attractiveness, gender,
temperament, muscle composition, reflexes, energy
level and biological rhythms.
 Environment:

Friends and social groups, norms among family and


influence etc.
 Situation:

Personality does change in different situations.

The Big- Five Model
1. Extroversion (introversion)
A personality dimension describing someone who is
sociable, gregarious and assertive.
2. Agreeableness (antagonistic)
A personality dimension that describes someone who is
good-natures, cooperative and trusting.
3. Conscientiousness (unreliable)
A peronality dimension that describes someone who is
responsible, dependable, persistent, and organized.

A personality dimension that characterizes someone as calm,
self-confident, secure (positive).
5. Openness to experience (closed mind)
A personality dimension that characterizes someone in terms
of imagination, sensitivity, and curiosity.

1. Are always moving, walking, and eating rapidly.
2. Feel impatient with the rate at which most events take place
3. Strive to think or do two or more things at once
4. Cannot cope with leisure time
5. Are obsessed with numbers, measuring their success in terms
of how many or how much of everything they acquire

1. Never suffer from a sense of time urgency
2. Feel no need to display or discuss either their achievements
or accomplishments unless such exposure is demanded by
the situation
3. Play for fun and relaxation, rather than to exhibit their
superiority at any cost
4. Can relax without guilt

 1. Realistic - practical and involves aggressive : Forestry, farming
behavior and architecture
 2. Investigative- involves thinking, organizing : Biology, News
rather than emotions reporting
 3.Social – Interpersonal rather than intellectual: Clinical psychology,

 4. Conventional- Person always worried about : HUF, corporate

 5. Enterprising- Risk-taking, verbal activities : Small-scale
