CAPACITY OF THE PLANT
• The plant is envisaged to desal 5.8 MGD.
i.e. 26366.8 CuM/day.
• The plant consists of four banks (skids).
• The capacity of each bank is 275 CuM/hr
• Total capacity of all banks = 1100 Cum/hr
PROCESS DESCRIPTION
The entire Plant premises consists of four sections:
1. Pre- treatment
2. RO Plant Area
3. Post -treatment
4. Electrical Switch yard area
PRE-TREATMENT PLANT
The Pre-treatment Plant consists of:
1. Stilling Chambers
2. Flash Mixer
3. Flocculator
4. Lamella Clarifier
5. Gravity Sand filters (GSF)
6. Chlorination System
7. Chemical Storage &Dosing System
8. Filter water (FW) and Permeate water tank
STILLING CHAMBER
Water from sea water intake pump house is pumped to
stilling chamber at distance of 4 Kms. Sea water shall
enter stilling chamber from the bottom of all the
turbulence in water shall get removed in stilling chamber
and the water flow shall become laminar.
FLASH MIXER
The outlet water of each parshall flume
shall be led to the down stream flash mixer.
Here Ferric chloride is dosed for
Coagulation or un-dissolved impurities.
FLOCCULATOR
Sea water after coagulation overflows into
flocculator wherein polyelectrolyte is added
for flocculation of cogulated particles.
LAMELLA CLARIFIER
The clarifier consists of a series of inclined over lapping plates which are
arranged to form a separate sedimentation chamber of adjacent plates. As
the feed stream moves upward, solid settle downward by the plates
descending a short distance onto the surface area provided by the plates.
The clarifier water then flows to Gravity sand filter and deposited
precipitate collected bottom of the lamella clarifier.
GRAVITY SAND FILTERS
The out of lemella clarifier water
transferred to GSF by gravity flow through
RCC channel for further removal of residual
suspended and colloidal particles.
FILTERED WATER TANKS
Filtered water from GSF flow to filtered water
storage tank by gravity.
Water is pumped to cartridge filters by feed
pumps.
The feed water will be passed through a cartridge
filter, which removes fine suspended particles.
After cartridge filtration, water is pumped to
permeate tank for storage.
From permeate tank water is transferred to
CPCL.
