Grade Book Audits
Will happen each Monday by your assigned
MIDDLE SCHOOL GRADING ADMIN.

CATEGORIES & WEIGHTS • You should have a minimum of 1 grade in


the following categories each week:
These categories have already been entered in PowerTeacher Pro. • Assessments
You will not need to enter any categories in your grade book.
• Classwork
• Homework
• Assessments – 40% • Class Participation
• You should have a minimum of 1
• Classwork – 40% Project/Portfolio/Presentation grade each
quarter.
• Homework – 10%
• All students who have a 70 or below must
• Class Participation – 5% have a scheduled (with calendar invite)
Friday session with that teacher.
• Projects/Portfolios/Presentations – 5% • Each Thursday, teachers should share the
names of students with counseling
concerns with Mrs. Rutherford.
• Failing, attendance, social/emotional

GRADE BOOK AUDITS
What happens if my gradebook is not in compliance when my ADMIN
conducts my gradebook audit on Monday?

• 1st offense: Teacher will attend a virtual meeting with his/her


ADMIN immediately following Faculty Meeting. The teacher will
remain in this meeting until the gradebook meets all expectations.

• 2nd + offense: Teacher will receive a written reprimand and will


attend a virtual meeting with his/her ADMIN immediately
following Faculty Meeting. The teacher will remain in this meeting
until the gradebook meets all expectations.

ADVANCED ACADEMICS
SCS Policy 5005

All AP Courses – Teachers must MANUALLY add 5 percentage points to


each quarter grade and semester exam grade

All SWDC & Dual Enrollment Courses – Teachers must MANUALLY add 4
percentage points to each quarter grade and semester exam grade

All HONORS Courses – Teachers must MANUALLY add 3 percentage points


to each quarter grade and semester exam grade.

*Middle school students in grades 6-8 do not have semester exams

EXAM EXEMPTION
SCS Policy 5015
• A student having a 90 or higher average for the two terms/quarters in a
specific course and having three (3) or fewer excused absences in that same
course will be exempted from the semester exam if the student desires.

• ANY UNEXCUSED ABSENCE IN THE COURSE WILL DISQUALIFY THE STUDENT


FROM ALL EXEMPTIONS.

• Students enrolled in NON-TESTING courses are eligible for exam exemption


during both semesters. All other students in high school TESTING courses
may be exempted for only the second semester exam.

*Middle school students in grades 6-8 do not have semester exams

THURSDAY COLLABORATIVE DATES & SUBMISSION

• ADMIN will add one person from each department to the folder. That
person is responsible for adding all other department members.
• Slides should be uploaded to this folder each Thursday
• If your department has decided to host its Student Work Analysis Collaborative on
a different day, inform your assigned ADMIN today.
• We will follow progressive steps with any teacher who fails to upload

FRIDAY LESSON PLAN INTERNALIZATION
Pre-work:
• All teachers are expected to have his/her lesson recorded prior to the
start of the meeting. ILT leads are to email the names of teachers who
are not prepared for the meeting. Lesson presentation expectations:
• Review the rubric requirements (rubric is attached)
• Create a lesson plan using the current lesson plan format. Do not use the lesson
plan from previous years.
• Record the M/T lesson using the script provided by Ms. Harris (see script)
• Listen to the lesson plan before presenting it to the group
• Fix all noticeable grammatical errors both typed and spoken before meeting with
your ILT team

FRIDAY LESSON PLAN INTERNALIZATION
Meeting Expectations:
• - ILT will predetermine the presenter order and begin the meeting promptly.
Presenter:
• o Make sure your lesson is available prior to the start of the meeting
• o Select “share audio” before sharing your presentation
• o Do not stop the presentation to ask questions
• o Allow the video to play completely
• o Be prepared to receive feedback at the end of everyone’s presentation
Observer
• o Mute your screen while presentations are happening
• o Write honest constructive criticism for each section of the rubric “It was boring” without input on how to
make it better does not qualify as constructive criticism.
• o Fill in each portion of the rubric for all presenters, if a portion of the lesson plan is missing make note of that
on the rubric.
• o Be prepared to explain all feedback once the presentations are complete.

FRIDAY LESSON PLAN INTERNALIZATION
Post Meeting Expectations:
• All participants are expected to make corrections and load their
completed lessons into the drive by 8:00pm
• All teachers are expected to upload sub plans with lesson plans
• ILT will email the name of those who have not submitted completed
vetted videos to Mrs. Stewart by 8:05pm
• Failure to complete lesson plans on time will result in admin counseling
and documentation – Progressive Steps.
