 Skimming in reading requires carefully pay attention to what for the structure of that reading

 For example : headings ,bulleted list, numbered lists, bold text ,italic text .
 Here are some steps you should take if do skimming :
 Look at the table of contents .
 The main headings .Remember that tables and charts have headings too.

 After reading first sentences , look at the last ones of each paragraph.These senteces can be topic
sentences that hold main idea.
 Attentively read the keywords .It can be nouns ,dates ,events ,names or numbers.
 During skimming process, it’s good to use marker or pencil .(Preparation for scanning)

Tips to do scanning while reading process :
Use finger of us to scan , which is very helpful way to stay
focused.The calmness of mind together with strong physica; image
of finger –pointing along the lines povide confidence.
Repeat silently in mind the keywords while scanning.Keep saying
quietly that’s the destination.
When you come across keyword while scanning ,stop and carefully
read the surrounding text.
